«The recent presidential contest made clear that the mainstream media is biased, but the bigger story is the extent to which the intelligence community took a role in the campaigning.
Deep State. Fake News. The 2016 presidential election cycle brought these terms into the general vernacular and launched a debate that is challenging the way Americans view the news and the reality it purports to convey. We are seeing a widespread awakening to the awful reality that the American government has been hijacked, that powerful forces — a “state within the state,” the Deep State — are at work to deceive us. The egregiously anti-Trump/pro-Clinton media bias during the election campaign, and the continuation of the malicious media attacks after the inauguration — to the point of even justifying and sympathizing with the violent anti-Trump rioters — caused President Trump’s “Fake News” accusation to resonate widely. The American public has long been aware that something is terribly wrong with the major corporate news organizations — the so-called “mainstream media” (MSM) — but the 2016 elections proved to millions the truth of Trump’s Tweet that “The FAKE NEWS media (failing @nytimes, @NBCNews, @ABC, @CBS, @CNN) … is the enemy of the American People!”
Americans who identify as political conservatives, or as Christians, as pro-life, pro-gun rights, pro-traditional marriage, pro-military, pro-free enterprise — in general, pro-liberty — have realized for decades that the MSM claim to “objective reporting” is laughable. Long before Hillary Clinton labeled Trump voters an irredeemable “basket of deplorables … racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic,” conservatives had become inured to being similarly smeared by the media elites. Conservatives — who comprise the majority of America voters — know from bitter experience that the “tolerance” demanded of us by the liberal elites does not extend to those who oppose, or even disagree with, the “progressive” agenda.
In addition to a number of surveys over the years in which media reporters, editors, and commentators have self-identified overwhelmingly as “liberals” on many issues (as well as identifying as registered Democrats), the evidence of blatant bias is in their product. They have been clobbering us day after day, year after year with a nonstop onslaught of “progressive” propaganda aimed at profoundly transforming American society and American culture: LBGTQ rights, open borders, gun control, racial agitation, more government programs, more government spending, more government regulation, more government surveillance, and more taxes. In short, the liberal, progressive agenda — championed and promoted by the MSM — has been driving us, on a seemingly inexorable path, toward the Total State, where the individual citizen has no protection against omnipotent government.
The 2016 election crystallized the divide between the “deep state” governing elites (including the MSM) and the American people more than at any time since the Johnson-Goldwater contest in 1964. (This writer observed that quadrennial event as a very politically engaged junior high-school student.) Republican Senator Barry Goldwater lost that matchup with incumbent President Lyndon Johnson in a lopsided defeat of historic proportions. Johnson’s landslide victory can be attributed to two things: the sympathy vote for recently assassinated President John F. Kennedy, for whom Johnson was vice president; and the relentless media demonization of Goldwater as a racist and a dangerous extremist who would, if elected president, end the world in nuclear annihilation.
Hillary Clinton’s campaign decided early on to repeat the same vilification operation that had succeeded so magnificently against Goldwater 52 years earlier. In addition to mimicking the Ku Klux Klan-racist smear and the nuclear war hysteria of the anti-Goldwater campaign, Team Hillary even brought 80-year-old actor William Bogert back from oblivion to reprise his disingenuous, anti-Goldwater “Confessions of a Republican” commercial in which he posed as a conservative blasting Goldwater as racist, extremist, and unreasonable. This time around he did the same against Trump.
However, there were at least three major factors at work that defeated Clinton’s surefire/slam-dunk repetition of the anti-Goldwater strategy:
• The liberal elites no longer had a lock-hold on the media. Gone are the days of media dominance by three major TV networks and a handful of newspapers and magazines;
• As a result of WikiLeaks and other whistleblower and hacktivist efforts, public awareness of the dangerous reality of a “deep state” cabal involving intelligence agencies, politicians, bureaucrats, and corporate cronies had reached a critical mass across the political spectrum and across party lines; and
• Donald Trump is not only media savvy and technology savvy, but he responds to the smears and attacks in unconventional ways that have proven effective.
“Deep State”
Intrigues In the fall of 2016, accusations of Russian interference in the U.S. presidential campaign intensified as the Clinton-Trump race headed toward election day. Hillary Clinton, President Obama, the New York Times, the Washington Post, CNN, and their brethren in the corporate MSM choir hammered on this theme without let-up. According to Secretary Clinton and her allies, Vladimir Putin was pulling out all stops in a desperate attempt to block her road to the White House, while assisting Trump. Clinton insisted that Putin was doing this because he feared her steely resolve, while favoring Trump’s alleged friendly overtures.
The Clinton-friendly media were only too happy and willing to promote this Putin-Trump love affair narrative, and have continued belaboring it, even though no evidence has been produced to show that Trump has, or had, any business connection or other ties to Russia. Hillary Clinton, on the other hand, has had multi-million-dollar business dealings with Russia that any reasonable person would find troubling. One of the most notable problematic deals, which should have been (and should still be) the focus of media attention, is her role in the sale of the Uranium One mine in Wyoming, which delivered one-fifth of our uranium reserves to Russia. That transaction netted her, husband Bill Clinton, the Clinton Foundation, and Clinton donor Frank Giustra millions of dollars. Then there is Hillary’s key role in helping Putin build Skolkovo, Russia’s version of Silicon Valley, a huge national security issue that the pro-Clinton/pro-Obama MSM echo chamber could never seem to summon even a mildly curious concern over. And there are the handsome profits for John Podesta, Hillary Clinton’s campaign manager (and George Soros minion), in the Joule Unlimited energy deal with Russian oligarch Viktor Vekselberg, a billionaire crony in Putin’s inner circle. Again, another glaring lack of concern over verifiable, alarming Kremlin-Clinton ties by the same media mavens who are all frightfully adither over the alleged (but so far unsubstantiated) “Russian connections” of Team Trump.
Whatever traction Hillary Clinton and the anti-Trump accusers in Congress and the media have had on this issue has been provided by the appearance of support for the charges from America’s spymasters. The unprecedented public involvement of the leaders of the intelligence agencies in the political process over the past several months is cause for very grave concern. In fact, the degree to which the “intelligence community” has taken sides in a very partisan manner gave serious grounds for fears that a political coup against President-elect Trump might be in the offing before he could be officially inaugurated as President Trump. And the continued leaks and skullduggery since the Obama-to-Trump transition indicate that that is still a possibility. As we point out in our article “CIA’s Mockingbirds and ‘Ruling Class Journalists,’” the intelligence agencies, most especially the CIA, have been involved in extralegal political machinations, propaganda, and psychological manipulation for decades, but they have not previously engaged so openly and audaciously in politics. The fact that they are so brazenly — and illegally — interfering in the political milieu today is a signal that the masters they serve are either very confident that they won’t get caught, or are very desperate to preserve the illicit powers and controls they have amassed.
The public sparring between the “intelligence community” and Donald Trump — first as presidential candidate, then as president-elect, and then as president — has exposed the dangerous consequences of congressional dereliction in allowing the intelligence agencies to run for decades without accountability. Equally important, it has exposed the degree to which the MSM (CNN, the New York Times, NBC, ABC, CBS, etc.) have become mere adjuncts of the CIA, NSA, DNI, FBI, etc. However, there is another three-letter acronym that gets short shrift, but is of paramount importance, in all the heated discussion over the currently unfolding Deep State machinations: CFR, for Council on Foreign Relations, the globalist Brain Trust for Deep State operations. While critics on the Right and the Left denounce the surveillance abuses, invasions of privacy, political interference (at home and abroad), secret wars, assassination, and other immoral and illegal “intelligence community” practices, they evince a curious and stubborn reluctance to mention the CFR, the 500-lb gorilla in the room.
Case in point (one of many recent examples that could be cited): the firing of General Michael Flynn as President Trump’s national security advisor. The report that General Flynn lied about a meeting he had with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak was first revealed by Washington Post columnist and associate editor David Ignatius in his column for January 12. Left-wing journalist and Deep State critic Glenn Greenwald perceptively Tweeted: “Very significant it’s David Ignatius who broke story of Flynn talking to Russians since he’s long been [an] all-but-official CIA media spokesman.” Greenwald is no fan of Trump, in fact he seems to detest him; but he detests even more the shadowy powers whom Ignatius serves. The same can be said for CIA veteran Melvin A. Goodman, who has called Ignatius “the CIA’s apologist-in-chief.” Then there’s former CIA Director George Tenet, who offered fulsome praise for Ignatius and his spy novel Body of Lies in a promotional blurb for the book: “Body of Lies is fiction but reads like fact. CIA officers admire Ignatius because more than any other writer he understands the nuances of their trade. Fascinating.”
David Ignatius is indeed a longtime media conduit for CIA misdirection, misinformation, and disinformation (as is his employer, the Washington Post). And his unnamed source for the Flynn story, “a senior U.S. government official,” broke the law and committed a serious felony in releasing Flynn’s name. So did Ignatius, himself, in publishing it. So far as we know, from publicly available information, General Flynn did not break the law, although I would argue that, contrary to Flynn’s defenders, his meeting with Ambassador Kislyak and his financial dealings with the Turkish regime of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan are cause for concern, and possibly may have been serious enough to end up disqualifying him from the sensitive role of national security advisor. But the hypothetical Flynn may-have-beens that continue to occupy the hyperventilating MSM commentators are one thing; the actual Ignatius-intel leak is another. And it should be obvious that the real story here that is being ignored in the MSM is the illegal Ignatius-intel leak, especially since, taken in the context of the many other actions occurring at the time (as well as before and since), the Flynn case is a prime example of Deep State operations violating the Constitution and subverting the rule of law. It is also important for illustrating the crucial role of controlled “journalists” in the coordinated MSM/intel community effort to torpedo and bring down the Trump administration. In this respect, it is especially noteworthy for showing the indispensable hand of the CFR in managing this coordination.
David Ignatius is not only a longtime member of the CFR, he is one of the most trusted operatives of this private club of globalists that has become our de facto government, with its members holding key positions and wielding incredible influence in the legislative, judicial, and executive branches, including the military and intelligence agencies — for at least the past three generations. The aforementioned CIA Director George Tenet, the ardent Ignatius admirer, is also a CFR member, as have been 13 of his predecessors in that post, going all the way back to the agency’s first civilian director (and longest serving chief), the “legendary” Allen Dulles, who was a founding member of the CFR and a genuine globalist insider. Likewise, the CFR virtually has owned the top rungs of power in the federal government going back many decades: 24 secretaries of state, 20 national security advisors, 20 secretaries of defense, 22 secretaries of the treasury — and thousands of additional Cabinet secretaries, under-secretaries, deputy secretaries, assistant secretaries, etc.
See here |
But back to Ignatius, whose columns are regularly featured as “Must Read” pieces on the CFR’s website. He has served alongside top-tier CFR members such as Madeleine Albright, Stephen Hadley, and Robert Blackwill as a host and moderator for the council’s panel discussions and CFR-sponsored Independent Task Force reports. Ignatius also co-hosts PostGlobal, an online discussion of international issues, with Fareed Zakaria (CFR), and is a regularly featured “expert” on television programs such as MSNBC’s Morning Joe with hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski (a CFR member and daughter of Zbigniew Brzezinski, CFR), which competes with CNN’s programming lineup for the most hysterical anti-Trump commentary and vitriolic insults. Apropos of a discussion of Deep State intrigues in the Flynn firing, it is worthy of note that Ignatius is a key voice among those apparently doing the CIA/CFR’s bidding in the Flynn follow-up, the encore attacks aimed at destroying Representative Devin Nunes (R-Calif.), chairman of the House Intelligence Committee. Scarborough and Brzezinski led off their Morning Joe show on March 28 echoing the demands of House Democrats, including House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, that Chairman Nunes must immediately recuse himself from the Russia-Trump investigation because of his “discredited behavior” in going to the White House for an intel briefing. “He has completely undermined himself,” Brzezinski insisted. “It is now proven ten times over.... This is just reality,” she claimed before bringing on David Ignatius, who opined that the House investigation is “almost shattered now after what Nunes has done. It’s going to be hard for Republicans on the committee, even if they want to do the right thing to operate in a bipartisan way so long as Nunes is there really in effect leading the President’s defense.” After which Brzezinski responded, “So this is the question everyone is asking: Should Congressman Devin Nunes recuse himself?” To which Scarborough delivered an emphatic “Yes.” Nunes, ultimately, succumbed to the concerted campaign and stepped down.
Why the concerted, vicious attacks on Representative Nunes by CNN, the Times, the Post, et al.? Could it be they are attempting to shield the CIA/CFR Deep State operatives in the Obama administration who have been fingered in the illegal “unmasking” and releasing of the names of Flynn and others in the classified NSA intercepts? Say, for instance, Obama’s National Security Advisor Susan Rice (CFR) and his Deputy Secretary of Defense Evelyn Farkas (CFR)? That would be a safe surmise, since they have both been credibly exposed as top suspects in the unmasking.
Let’s look at another example: Max Boot, the famous “Senior Fellow” at the CFR who is also a regular contributor at the Weekly Standard, the Los Angeles Times, USA Today, Foreign Policy, the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, Commentary, etc. In an April 3, 2017 article for Foreign Policy on what Boot calls “Kremlin-gate,” the CFR mouthpiece declared, “The only thing we know for certain is that no credible answers will come from the House Intelligence Committee. Nunes has destroyed its integrity.”
An earlier Boot article in Foreign Policy on January 5 was entitled “America’s Spies Need to Watch Their Backs,” with an accusing subtitle that could have been written at CIA HQ in Langley declaring, “Donald Trump’s disparagement of the CIA and apparent plans to shake up the intelligence community are a serious threat to American security.” That has been an ongoing theme for months among the Deep State’s chattering class, that any criticism of the actions of the highly politicized leaders of the intelligence agencies (who are, after all, political appointees of the president) is tantamount to condemnation of all the rank-and-file agents of the “intelligence community.”
On April 4, Boot appeared as a guest on Fox TV’s Tucker Carlson Tonight to cross swords (sort of) with the eponymous host of the show to misdirect attention away from Obama/Susan Rice/Deep State issues and refocus all attention on the Trump/Flynn/Nunes/Kremlingate narrative. Sadly, while Tucker Carlson ably punched holes in Boot’s arguments, he failed to even hint at Boot’s Deep State role. Carlson introduced Boot merely as “a foreign policy analyst and military historian,” and allowed Boot to cloak himself with an aura of faux conservatism with repeated (and unchallenged) claims that he is “a lifelong Republican.” Yes, a “Rockefeller Republican” internationalist, the type beloved of the CFR/CIA elites, which is why Boot has served as an advisor to GOP globalists such as Senator John McCain and Mitt Romney — and endorsed Hillary Clinton in 2016.
The David Ignatius and Max Boot examples cited above are but two of literally thousands of examples of the Deep State “Fake News,” which comes in a variety of species of slanted, censored, tilted, and biased, all the way to totally fabricated. The globalist fake-news echo chamber includes hundreds of corporate media executives and “journalists” who are CFR members, including Peter Bergen (CNN), Erin Burnett (CNN), Tom Brokaw (NBC), Ethan Bronner (New York Times) Juju Chang (ABC), Katie Couric (CBS, NBC), Thomas Friedman (New York Times), Charles Krauthammer (Washington Post, Fox), Paul Krugman (New York Times), Jim Lehrer (PBS), Bill Moyers (PBS, CBS), Heather Nauert (Fox), Kitty Pilgrim (CNN), Dan Rather (CBS), Charlie Rose (PBS, CBS), Diane Sawyer (ABC), Andrew Ross Sorkin (New York Times), Lesley Stahl (CBS), Barbara Walters (ABC), and Paula Zahn (Fox, CNN).
How many of the above-named newshounds and their hundreds of CFR brethren are actually paid operatives of the intelligence agencies? That is a very important question, since recent history shows that a great many influential media folk have been in bed with the “intelligence community.” Although the existence of the CIA’s Project Mockingbird was known for decades, it was not officially confirmed until 2007. In the past few years and months, several million more documents have been released by the CIA, thanks to leaks and FOIA lawsuits, revealing the alarming degree to which the CFR-run intelligence community is politicized and how, in turn, the CFR-CIA Deep State operatives weaponized the American media into a fearsome propaganda network. The list of those who were key participants in that network reads like a Who’s Who of America’s “prestige press” during the 1950s, ’60s, and ’70s: the owners, publishers, and editors of the Washington Post and New York Times; magazine and television network executives and reporters; nationally syndicated columnists; and news wire services.
Unfortunately, we do not have the luxury of waiting another few decades to learn the details about the journalists and media organizations who are today joined at the hip to the Deep State subversion apparatus. Freedom will not survive that long in the truth vacuum and the wilderness of mirrors engineered by an Orwellian Ministry of Truth. Yet, that is the dystopian future that President Obama and the Deep State globalists have prepared for us. This is not mere polemic on our part, as anyone familiar with The New American’s reports over the past several years on the Obama administration’s “Behavioral Insights Teams” (also known as “Nudge Squads”) will recognize. Overseen by two of Obama’s most notoriously totalitarian-minded officials — “Regulatory Czar” Cass Sunstein and “Science Czar” John Holdren — the social-engineering scheme is patterned on a secret British program run by the Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ), Britain’s intelligence organization responsible for Signals Intelligence (SIGINT). That program has been exposed since 2013, with the leak of a GCHQ handbook instructing the spy agency’s agents on methods to “destroy, deny, degrade [and] disrupt” those individuals designated as enemies, by, among other things, “discrediting” them, planting misinformation, shutting down their communications, and destroying their reputations. (See our article “Obama’s Big Brother ‘Nudge Squads.’”)
In a very revealing (and disturbing) comment on national television, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) underscored the alarming degree to which Congress has already exchanged subservience for its constitutional obligation of oversight. In an interview with MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow on January 3, Schumer claimed Trump was “really dumb” for his decision to “take on” the intelligence community. “Let me tell you, you take on the intelligence community, they have six ways from Sunday to get back at you,” Schumer said, adding, “So, even for a practical, supposedly hard-nosed businessman, he is being really dumb to do this.”
Was Senator Schumer, who is one of the most “progressive” members of Congress, serving as a Deep State emissary? Was he delivering a message to Trump (or, more likely, to any Trump allies who might consider supporting his “really dumb” challenge to the intelligence community’s political leadership)? That would be a reasonable take-away from his remarks, considering his political history and the fact that he made them on MSNBC, one of the loudest megaphones for the radical statist agenda. An alternative interpretation of his comment is that he is a complete coward who recognizes that the intelligence agencies that are supposed to be our servants have become our masters — and he is not willing to “take on” this imminent threat to our liberty. The real question is, are we ready and willing to “take on” the Deep State to preserve freedom, the rule of law, and constitutionally limited government?».
William F. Jasper («Deep State and Fake News», in The New American, 25 April 2017).
«Burrowed deep within the bowels of the U.S. government are legions of Big Government bureaucrats with views that are radically at odds with those of everyday, mainstream Americans — and the implications for freedom are enormous. Elections may be useful in removing politicians, but the career bureaucrats who toil away in obscurity, often in blatant defiance of the Constitution, never go anywhere. Instead, they protect their turf as they dump an unfathomable amount of regulations and decrees on the very taxpaying Americans who pay their salaries — tens of thousands of pages worth every year. And when there is a perceived threat to their power and agenda — say, for example, a president who promises to “drain the swamp” and rein in the bureaucracy — they react with fury. Meet the infamous “Deep State,” or at least one crucial component of it.
On paper, at least, President Donald Trump is the chief executive officer of the federal government. He sits atop a vast and incredibly powerful machine that includes nearly three million civilian federal employees, according to data from the Office of Personnel Management. That does not include the more than two million in the Armed Services or the over 20 million government employees at the state and local level. Those millions of federal employees are spread out across hundreds — nobody has the exact number, apparently — of bureaucracies, agencies, departments, sub-agencies, and more. Official estimates on the number of agencies range as high as 430, or even higher. And regardless of which agency they work at, among those federal employees who gave to a political campaign in the last presidential election, almost all of them gave to Hillary Clinton.
In a memo produced by Rich Higgins while he was serving as U.S. national security council director for strategic planning in the Trump administration, the “Deep State” is referred to multiple times. Under “The Deep State,” the document outlines the general idea: “The successful outcome of cultural Marxism is a bureaucratic state beholden to no one, certainly not the American people. With no rule of law considerations outside those that further deep state power, the deep state truly becomes, as Hegel advocated, god bestriding the earth.” Throughout the memo, there are more than half a dozen references to this “Deep State,” including the idea that Democratic leadership “protects cultural Marxist programs of action and facilitates the relentless expansion of the deep state.”
Even the Republican leadership, in cooperation with “globalists, corporatists, and the international financial interests,” is willing to “service the deep state.” The document, which outlines the coalition of interests that are said to be working to destroy President Trump and America, highlights a seemingly bizarre alliance among the hard Left, Islamist organizations, globalists, and more. “Recognizing in candidate Trump an existential threat to cultural Marxist memes that dominate the prevailing cultural narrative, those that benefit recognize the threat he poses and seek his destruction,” Higgins observed, describing a Maoist-style insurgency being waged against the administration. “For this cabal, Trump must be destroyed. Far from politics as usual, this is a political warfare effort that seeks the destruction of a sitting president. Since Trump took office, the situation has intensified to crisis level proportions. For those engaged in the effort, especially those from within the “deep state” or permanent government apparatus, this raises clear Title 18 (legal) concerns.”
Higgins was reportedly removed from his post by the Deep State. Former Trump advisor Sebastian Gorka referred to it as the “permanent state.”
And indeed, there does appear to be a sort of permanent governing class that, at least in part, is composed of unaccountable federal officials burrowed into the bowels of the bureaucracy. And there is plenty of evidence to suggest that this permanent government is hostile to the founding values of the United States — limited government, rule of law, inalienable rights endowed on individuals by God, traditional morality, and more. Of course, the first and most obvious piece of evidence is simply to examine the actions of this permanent governing class. The obvious fruits of the bureaucracy's labors include constantly diminishing individual freedom, perpetually expanding government power, increased militarization of the bureaucracies, destroyed lives, reduced prosperity, and other ills.
Consider also the fact that some 95 percent of the money donated by federal employees who gave in the 2016 presidential election went to Clinton. The massive imbalance held true across every agency analyzed by The Hill as part of an eye-opening investigation published in the days before the election. Among employees at the U.S. State Department, for example, more than 99 percent of all donations went to Clinton. That incredible ratio helps explain seemingly bizarre occurrences such as, for instance, the recently exposed plot by top State Department officials to install Clinton's top aide as U.S. ambassador to Colombia amid a Deep State-backed scheme to empower communist forces there. It also helps explain why foreign policies started under previous administrations — using U.S. tax money to promote homosexuality abroad, as one example — continue despite the change in the political leadership.
Some bureaucracies were even worse than the State Department. At the U.S. Department of Education, which has usurped virtually all authority over what gets taught in government schools today, 99.7 percent of donations went to Clinton. Virtually every bureaucrat in this department who donated (except three) supported Hillary Clinton, who supported Common Core and infamously claimed that it takes a (government) “village” to raise a child. That is why, despite the ostensible change in leadership, very little has actually changed in terms of policy at the department. In fact, Education Secretary Betsy DeVos' false claims notwithstanding, the department continues its scheming to force government schools across America to teach the Obama-backed, dumbed-down Common Core standards — a politically toxic program to further nationalize and destroy education that Trump promised to crush.
Other federal departments — including many that can literally destroy the lives of Americans on a whim — are almost as radically skewed in favor of Clinton and her anti-constitutional, Big Government agenda. Consider the Department of Justice as a representative example. According to The Hill's analysis of election spending data, 97 percent of DOJ employees' donations to a presidential campaign went to Clinton. Remember, those are the same bureaucrats who were in charge of investigating Clinton for a variety of serious crimes, including her use of a private e-mail server while she was secretary of state. Still today, despite having Attorney General Jeff Sessions ostensibly in charge, the DOJ remains dominated by a permanent class of bureaucrats and attorneys who loathe the average Trump voter.
At the U.S. Department of Agriculture, 99.4 percent of donations went to Clinton. The numbers were the same at the U.S. Department of Labor, with just 0.6 percent of donations going to Trump. At the U.S. Commerce Department, more than 98 percent of the cash went to Clinton. At the Department of Energy, it was 95 percent. Among Health and Human Services (HHS) bureaucrats, 96 percent of their donations were for Clinton. At the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), 96 percent of donations went to Clinton, too. At the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), which has been under fire for years for targeting conservatives, almost 95 percent of donations were for Hillary. At the Treasury Department, 95 percent went to Clinton. At the EPA, where former bureaucrats got caught circulating a guide teaching current bureaucrats how to resist the Trump policies voters supported, it was 96 percent.
In other words, the federal bureaucrats in charge of foreign policy, “justice,” education, agriculture, health, tax audits, housing, commerce, and more are virtually all opponents of their boss — the man elected by the American people to rein in those very bureaucracies and bureaucrats. Those bureaucrats, who make up a key component of the “deep state,” are still giving overwhelmingly to Democrats ahead of the 2018 congressional elections, according to an analysis by the Washington Free Beacon released this week. Those trends are unlikely to change any time soon, with many of those bureaucrats having “job security” unimaginable in the private sector that includes a practical ban on being fired.
Some analysts have tried to explain away the incredibly lopsided donation numbers by citing self-preservation. In essence, the argument goes like this: Trump said he would consider cutting back some of the sprawling federal bureaucracy, so bureaucrats were anxious about potentially losing their jobs or their power or both. However, even among the agencies ostensibly dealing with “defense” and “security,” where Trump vowed more resources, Trump still did poorly in terms of donations relative to Clinton. At the Defense Department, for example, some 84 percent of donations went to Clinton. At “Homeland Security,” 90 percent of the donations went to Hillary. And at Veterans Affairs, Clinton received almost 90 percent.
Unfortunately, despite the rhetoric, President Donald Trump has been unable or unwilling to drain the Deep State bureaucracy swamp. Indeed, beyond the bureaucracy, many of Obama's political appointees remain in their posts. At the State Department, for example, out of six undersecretary of state positions, only one has been filled so far. That single post was actually filled by an Obama-era official, Thomas Shannon, who has been working to have Deep State operatives put into key posts that will advance Obama's agenda while ensuring that the “dirty laundry” never gets aired. Of the 23 assistant secretary of state positions, just three are filled so far, and two of those have been filled by officials from the Obama administration. A State Department official quoted in media reports said the agency had a “deep bench” of career bureaucrats working to “advance U.S. interests.” Even neocons, though, have warned that the State Department is still pursuing Obama's policies despite the election.
When asked about the huge number of appointments that have not been made, Trump suggested he might not make them. “We are not looking to fill all of those positions,” Trump explained on Twitter. “Don't need many of them — reduce size of government.” In an interview earlier this year with Forbes, Trump echoed those comments, saying he would not be making many of the appointments that would normally be made, because “you don't need them.” “I mean, you look at some of these agencies, how massive they are, and it’s totally unnecessary,” he said. “They have hundreds of thousands of people.” Trump is right, of course. In reality, it is even worse — many of those jobs and the agencies the appointees would lead are unconstitutional. But by not filling those key posts, Trump is allowing Obama holdovers and swarms of bureaucrats across the federal government to run wild. He may be getting bad advice from “Deep State” operatives.
In fact, some of the Deep State's leading luminaries — such as fanatical "New World Order" advocate and population-control zealot Henry Kissinger, who has served as secretary of state and in other top posts — have even been embraced by Trump in recent weeks. On October 10, Kissinger visited the Oval Office and whttps://www.thenewamerican.com/world-news/europe/item/18406-bilderberg-where-big-business-and-big-government-plot-globalismas showered with praise by the president. “Henry Kissinger has been a friend of mine. I've liked him, I've respected him,” Trump said. “He's a man I have great, great respect for.” Beyond that, The New American has highlighted the troubling connections to globalist establishment and the Council on Foreign Relations — another key component of the “Deep State” — even among some of his Cabinet appointments. Some of his top officials have even attended the annual Bilderberg meeting, another gathering of Deep State operatives.
Clinton and Biden have realized how important it is for Deep State operatives to remain in place as they try to sabotage any semblance of America First policies promised to voters by Trump. Biden, for example, said they “call me all the time.” He responds by telling them: “Please stay, please stay. There has to be some competence and normalcy.” Clinton made similar remarks last month, urging federal employees to “stick it out, stick it out, because the tide has to turn.” “If [Democrats] can take back one or both houses of Congress in 2018, you will have people you can talk to again,” Clinton declared while promoting her book. At least 78 of Obama's political appointees even “burrowed” into top-level civil service jobs where they essentially cannot be removed, according to a report from the Government Accountability Office.
Those “Deep State” bureaucrats and bureaucracies have many ways to take down their enemies. Consider, for example, that these out-of-control, rabidly pro-Clinton agencies produce more decrees and regulations with criminal penalties attached than the government itself can count — literally. Estimates suggest there are close to half a million federal regulations with criminal penalties. But nobody knows the true number. When lawmakers asked the Congressional Research Service to calculate the number of statutes and regulations with criminal penalties, its response was that it lacked the “manpower and resources to accomplish this task.” Seriously. Despite the Constitution delegating all legislative powers to Congress, the reality is that most legislative powers (and even many judicial powers) have been usurped by the administrative arm of “Deep State” and its never-ending deluge of regulations and decrees.
That means, among other things, that virtually every American commits multiple federal crimes each day without even knowing it, according to the book Three Felonies a Day: How the Feds Target the Innocent by attorney Harvey Silverglate. In other words, any American who crossed the Deep State could, theoretically, be targeted for violating some criminal regulation that he or she never even heard of. That is one of the things that makes the ongoing “fishing expedition” against Trump by Special Counsel Robert Mueller, a longtime Deep State operative, so dangerous — experts such as prominent emeritus law professor John Baker say there is literally no American over 18 who could not be charged with some federal crime. Combined with the out-of-control “intelligence” apparatus — another crucial component of the Deep State — literally nobody is safe. The vicious take down of Trump's first national security advisor, Mike Flynn, appears to have been a clear-cut example of the “Deep State” taking down one of its enemies.
Of course, different people mean different things when they talk about the “Deep State.” In the coming days and weeks, The New American magazine will also take a look at the Deep State behind the Deep State — manifested in, among other organizations, the Council on Foreign Relations, the Trilateral Commission, the Bilderberg network, and more. But for now, it is clear that the federal bureaucracy has become a crucial element of what is today known in the popular imagination as the “Deep State.” It is not alone, of course. But it is extremely powerful, and it has countless ways to destroy its enemies. If the American people hope to protect their Constitution and their liberties from the forces arrayed against it, defanging the administrative arm of the “Deep State” will be essential. And right now, Trump has the power to put that process in motion — if only he will take steps to do it».
Alex Newman («"Deep State" Bureaucracy vs. Trump, America, Constitution», in The New American, Friday, 20 October 2017).
«Rex Tillerson may soon be out as secretary of state. Rumors began circulating on Thursday that President Trump would be firing the former Exxon Mobil CEO, who has been at odds with much of the agenda that Trump campaigned on: global warming and the UN Paris climate accord, the Trans-Pacific Partnership, foreign wars, China relations, NAFTA, immigration, and more.

Tillerson’s removal would be heartily applauded by all supporters of Trump’s “America First” inclination, since Tillerson clearly represents the opposite orientation, especially as it relates to that ultimate bastion of world government internationalism the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR). We noted last March in our report on the Trump-Tillerson adoption of Communist Beijing’s “One China” doctrine (slamming our Free China ally, Taiwan) and the administration’s support of expanded U.S.-China “trade” (More Dangerous China Trade? Globalist Push vs. Trump Promise) that Tillerson, “while not a CFR member, has nonetheless been active as a speaker and participant at CFR events, a search of the Council’s website shows.” Moreover, “he has been endorsed or given high marks by CFR heavyweights and China Lobby stalwarts such as Henry Kissinger, Condoleezza Rice, Stephen Hadley, and Dick Cheney. All of these developments stack up as decidedly unfavorable signs for those who are expecting (or hoping for) major reversals in our decades of disastrous polices regarding China.”
In his maiden speech before the Council, on March 9, 2007, Tillerson stated: “Although this is my first time speaking at the Council on Foreign Relations, from a historical perspective, it feels a little bit like home. Some of you may or may not know the building we're in was once the private residence of Harold Pratt, who was a former director of the Standard Oil Company. I also feel at home because the Council was founded on a number of beliefs that I share and that I trust most of you do, as well, and that is the belief in the promise of international engagement and in the potential for global approaches to meeting this nation's challenges.”
Tillerson expanded on what those beliefs are by quoting CFR founding member Elihu Root, from the CFR journal Foreign Affairs. “In the very first issue of Foreign Affairs,” Tillerson observed, “statesman and founding Council member Elihu Root wrote, and I quote, ‘No nation whose citizens trade and travel need consider whether it will be a member of the community of nations. It is compelled by the situation. Because of this,’ he said, ‘there is a pressing demand for popular education in international affairs.’ Now, Root wrote this at a time when Americans were debating whether to choose an isolationist foreign policy or an internationalist one. The Council on Foreign Relations advocated the latter, and thankfully, this view eventually carried the day.”
Elihu Root, the consummate Wall Street establishment insider, was among the most important leaders of the push for world government at the end of the 19th century and the early part of the 20th. He is known mostly for having served as secretary of war (1899-1904) and secretary of state (1905-1909), but it was his lesser known close association with the CFR (of which he was honorary president from its founding until his death in 1937) and two of the planet’s wealthiest men, Andrew Carnegie and J.P. Morgan, that really defined the man. Carnegie was one of the early apostles of the world-government gospel, and Root served as chairman and/or president of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, the Carnegie Corporation, and the Carnegie Institution. These Carnegie operations showered lavish funds on propagandists and organizations (including the CFR) promoting this cause. Ostensibly a Republican, Root was, nevertheless, a backer of (Democratic) President Woodrow Wilson’s campaign for the League of Nations. Using Carnegie money, he helped launch the Hague Academy of International Law and the American Law Institute, both of which have labored to undermine national sovereignty and America’s constitutional checks and balances.
Root and his fellow internationalists contemptuously referred to American nationalists — that is, patriots and constitutionalists — as “isolationists,” a completely false designation, since virtually no nationalist advocated for isolation from the rest of the world. Nationalists simply demanded that our political leaders abide by their oaths to the Constitution and not subject Americans to foreign laws and internationalist schemes for global control. That Tillerson felt led to inform his CFR audience that he is in sync with Elihu Root’s internationalist philosophy is telling indeed.

Tillerson and the CFR-Obama-UN Paris Climate Deal
Among the many internationalist issues that Secretary Tillerson has weighed in on during his first year in the Trump administration, his handling of the UN Paris Climate Accord may be the one that most exemplifies his commitment to the CFR’s globalist agenda.
The New American has pointed out in many previous articles (see, for example, here and here) that the CFR has been the premier brain trust pushing the panic over the nonexistent “crisis” of anthropogenic (human-caused) global warming, or AGW. CFR President Richard Haass, whom Tillerson thanked at the beginning of his speech at the Council’s Pratt House headquarters in New York City, is a full-throated champion of efforts to empower the United Nations, with the UN Paris deal being one of the CFR’s most ambitious efforts to date. As renowned meteorologist/climatologist and professor emeritus at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Dr. Richard Lindzen puts it: “Controlling carbon is a bureaucrat's dream. If you control carbon, you control life.” And if you control the world’s carbon, you control all life on earth. What’s for a bureaucrat or a globalist cabal not to love about that?
Thus, there was much justifiable rejoicing on June 1 when President Trump announced that “as of today, the United States will cease all implementation of the non-binding Paris Accord and the draconian financial and economic burdens the agreement imposes on our country.” But the hallelujahs and huzzahs were premature. As The New American pointed out, the Trump administration’s announced cessation of implementation has left the United States in a hazardous position. Previously, President Trump, like many other critics, had rightly charged that President Obama’s “ratification” by executive decree is unconstitutional, and therefore invalid, since it did not submit it to the Senate, as required by our Constitution. As such, it is null and void. However, while rejecting the Paris treaty itself, the Trump administration then illogically and incoherently elected to abide by the invalid agreement’s stipulation that we must remain technically “in” the deal until after our next presidential election.
Swamp Creatures Still Run Foggy Bottom
This situation led Forbes writer Dave Keating to author a piece on November 19 entitled “It Looks Like The U.S. May Never Leave The Paris Climate Accord.” Keating observes: “Donald Trump may have vowed to take the United States out of the Paris climate accord, but you wouldn’t have known it based on the words of the negotiators he sent to the summit in Bonn to hammer out the rules of the agreement.”
Keating quotes Judith Garber, the U.S. acting assistant secretary of state for international environmental and scientific affairs (and the lead U.S. negotiator at Bonn), stating, among other things: “Although [President Trump] indicated that the United States intends to withdraw at the earliest opportunity, we remain open to the possibility of rejoining at a later date under terms more favorable to the American people.” Garber, a holdover from the Obama-Clinton State Department, is but one of many climate activists populating the federal bureaucracy. Tillerson has left many of the Obama-Clinton-Kerry veterans who played major roles in negotiating and drafting the illegal Obama-UN deal still in place. There definitely has been none of the promised draining of the swamp at Foggy Bottom (as the State Department is affectionately known); the swamp creatures are still in charge.
“By the end of the summit,” noted Keating, “many were beginning to suspect that this will not be a question of re-joining. The U.S. may never leave in the first place.” “When Donald Trump announced his decision in June,” Keating writes, “observers noted that out of several options to take the U.S. out of the accord, he chose the one that would take the longest. He could have declared Barack Obama’s decision to not put the agreement to the U.S. Congress (by not deeming it a ‘treaty’) to have been invalid. The Congress could have then rejected the agreement, taking the US out right away.”
“Instead,” Keating continued, “the Trump administration chose to go through the official process of withdrawal, which takes more than three years. The ‘earliest opportunity’ referred to by Garber just happens to be the day after the next U.S. presidential election in 2020. In the meantime, the US will continue sending delegates to take their seat at the table, ‘in order to ensure a level playing field that benefits and protects U.S. interests,’ according to a State Department official.”
At the two-week-long UN climate conference that took place recently in Bonn, Germany, most news coverage in the United States focused on America’s “pariah status” due to President Trump’s announced pullout of the Paris deal. But there were plenty of indications that the Tillerson State Department was pushing forward. “While one group of American officials led by White House adviser George David Banks raised eyebrows by hosting a pro-coal event during the talks, a second group consisting of seasoned U.S. negotiators quietly got on with the painstaking job of refining the international climate rulebook, said Elliot Diringer, a veteran of such U.N. meetings,” the Associated Press reported on November 17. "It's a smaller team but a strong team," said Diringer, who is the executive vice president of the Center for Climate and Energy Solutions, a Washington think tank. "From all accounts they have been playing a constructive role in the room advancing largely the same positions as before."
Apparently these folks didn’t get the memo from the president to “cease implementation” of their former boss’s scheme. Either that or Tillerson (or perhaps Tillerson and Trump) are knowingly looking the other way while these underlings ignore the announced position of their current boss. Maybe there are other explanations for why the State Department continues “advancing largely the same positions as before," even though the president has said they would impose “draconian” conditions on Americans.

Tillerson is part of the Deep State effort that is sabotaging the Trump administration from within. However, getting rid of Tillerson and replacing him with CIA’s Mike Pompeo doesn’t guarantee that the Deep State swamp creatures will disappear down the drain. As Warren Mass reports, Pompeo brings baggage of his own that will trouble Americans concerned about our rapidly eroding liberties. Most especially of concern are Pompeo’s tendencies to support the invasive and promiscuous use of surveillance methods and technologies by U.S. intelligence agencies against Americans — always in the name of national security, of course. Similar concerns extend to the man whose name is most being mentioned as a replacement for Pompeo at CIA: Senator Tom Cotton (R-Ark.). Senator Cotton, a hawkish neoconservative, has also shown that he fails to appreciate the limitations on federal power specified by our Constitution, which he has sworn to uphold and defend.
While the ousting of Tillerson would be a positive step forward, the D.C. swamp draining has barely begun, and Foggy Bottom, like the rest of the federal septic field, is still brimming with swamp creatures».
William F. Jasper («Tillerson to be Fired? What's Taken so Long?», in The New American, 02 December 2017).
«Amid a high-profile showdown with the “intelligence community” early in his term, President Donald Trump was repeatedly and viciously threatened — even with prison and death. What kind of people can threaten the democratically elected President of the United States and get away with it? Meet the “intelligence” and "security" tentacles of the “Deep State.”
Since the presidential election, elements of what is often called the "intelligence community" have dropped the mask. For everyday Americans misinformed by the establishment media and unaware of the out-of-control behavior of so many secretive government bureaucracies, it was shocking to hear lawmakers and bureaucrats talking about how the "intelligence" apparatus would take on President Trump. But the truth has been obvious to discerning Americans for many years: A key component of what has become known as the “Deep State” in recent times is the sprawling network of secrecy-obsessed bureaucracies of the “intelligence community.” And while they are not alone, rogue behavior by these agencies threatens constitutional governance in America.
This bloated “intelligence” bureaucracy, which is made up of some 16 (known) individual bureaucracies, includes the well-known Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), the National Security Agency (NSA), and the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA). It also includes many lesser-known bureaucracies burrowed into various cabinet-level departments such as Defense, Homeland Security, Treasury, Energy, State, and Justice. Each branch of the U.S. Armed Services has an intelligence agency, too. According to an investigation by the left-wing Washington Post (published before the paper was purchased by Jeff Bezos, who has massive contracts with the CIA that the paper refuses to disclose), there are more than 1,250 government organizations and almost 2,000 companies in 10,000 locations across America involved in this, including almost a million “contractors,” bureaucrats, and military personnel with top-secret clearances.
Some functions of these bureaucracies are critical to national security. And many employees of the agencies are decent, patriotic Americans working hard to keep America safe. But there is a dark underbelly to the “intelligence community” that was briefly observed by the public in the early months of the Trump administration. And if left unchecked, it literally threatens liberty and self-government. It has shown some of its power. Amid a non-stop deluge of leaks orchestrated by “Deep State” bureaucrats, a frustrated Trump lashed out, suggesting — with good reason — that operatives of the “intelligence community” were trying to sabotage him. Then came some shocking responses. “Now we go nuclear,” wrote former NSA analyst John Schindler on social media. “[Intelligence community] war going to new levels. Just got an [email from] senior [intelligence community] friend, it began: ‘He will die in jail.'”
It seemed to be something of an open secret that “intelligence community” figures would use illegal or immoral schemes to target anyone who challenged them, including the president. Even top lawmakers openly talked about it, as if it were common knowledge on Capitol Hill. Senator Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), the Senate Minority Leader, for instance, offered chilling remarks that lifted the veil, at least partially, on how the “swamp” in Washington really works. “Let me tell you, you take on the intelligence community, they have six ways from Sunday at getting back at you,” Schumer told far-left activist Rachel Maddow of MSNBC in early January. “So even for a practical, supposedly hard-nosed businessman, he’s being really dumb to do this.” Schumer did not elaborate on how unelected bureaucracies supposedly subject to the American people's elected leaders would be “getting back” at Trump. But the threat was unmistakable.
What Is the Deep State?
These rogue agencies and bureaucrats that “have six ways from Sunday” to get back at the elected president of the United States are a key component of the so-called “Deep State.” Among the earliest individuals to use the term “Deep State” and apply it to the United States was Mike Lofgren, a congressional staffer with a top-secret security clearance for almost three decades specializing in national security. The Deep State, wrote Lofgren, is “the state within a state.” “The Deep State does not consist of the entire government,” Lofgren, a liberal who hates the Tea Party, wrote in 2014. “It is a hybrid of national security and law enforcement agencies: the Department of Defense, the Department of State, the Department of Homeland Security, the Central Intelligence Agency and the Justice Department.”
The NSA, which was exposed by multiple whistleblowers spying on virtually everyone without a warrant, is a “core component of the Deep State,” said Lofgren, author of the 2016 book The Deep State: The Fall of the Constitution and the Rise of a Shadow Government. The National Security Council, currently controlled by establishment globalist H.R. McMaster, coordinates the Deep State agencies, he said. Even parts of the judiciary belong to the Deep State, Lofgren added, pointing to the secretive Foreign Intelligence Surveillance (FISA) Court. And Big Business giants in Silicon Valley have been “conscripted” by the Deep State into helping spy on everyone, said Lofgren. Its power is enormous. For instance, the former congressional staffer argued in 2014 that it launches wars around the world at will, never learning lessons — Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, and Syria are among the recent examples.
Terror, Communism, Crime
Whenever there is any resistance to its agenda by the public, the “Deep State” simply cries “terrorism” to elicit a Pavlovian response from citizens and their elected officials, the former congressional staffer said. Although Lofgren did not go into it in his 2014 essay, the Deep State appears to have no scruples about getting into bed with terrorists or simply inventing terrorism by duping mentally ill people into plots to advance its agenda. As just one recent example, an explosive 2012 document from the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) that was seen by top Obama officials exposed several stunning facts. For one, it shows the Deep State knew that the insurgency in Syria was being led by al-Qaeda — and that the administration was supporting that insurgency anyway. Secondly, it offered proof that creating a "salafist principality” in Eastern Syria was a policy goal of the Deep State and its allies. With the Islamic State (ISIS), they succeeded, as Trump pointed out on the campaign.
Before “terror” was the key threat justifying the massive budget of the Deep State “intelligence community,” it was the threat of communism, which was, of course, extremely serious — and still is today, with the world's most populous nation still under overt Communist Party slavery. For some perspective on the type of people who run this Deep State Leviathan, though, a brief look at history is revealing. The recently departed CIA boss John Brennan admitted publicly last year that he voted for the Soviet Union-backed Communist Party USA candidate in 1976 — and that he admitted to voting for a Soviet puppet in a 1980 interview, and was hired by the agency anyway, going on to become the agency chief in 2013 under Obama.
Indeed, even when the CIA was still the Office of Strategic Services (OSS), communists and Soviet agents such as Eugene Dennis (exposed in the Venona documents) were deeply involved in the “intelligence” apparatus. Famous defector Elizabeth Bentley, who spied for the Soviet regime in America before defecting to the United States and blowing the whistle, testified that she would collect dues for the Communist Party USA from high-ranking OSS officials in Washington. Among those senior communists in the OSS “intelligence” bureaucracy, which eventually became the CIA, was Duncan Lee, the “confidential assistant” to OSS founder and chief William Donovan and the head of the China section at the OSS' Secret Intelligence Branch. Lee was exposed in the Venona documents, too, along with many others in the OSS.
Beyond terrorism and communism, and before the torture of “suspected militants” became well-known, the “intelligence” and “national security” component of the Deep State also had a long and troubling history with criminals and criminality — so much so that in many cases it is hard to tell where the criminal networks begin and the government ends. One recent example of “Deep State” machinations getting exposed was the now-infamous “Operation Fast and Furious.” As part of the scheme, the Justice Department, the ATF, and other components of the Deep State were caught transferring large quantities of American weapons to brutal Mexican drug cartels. Then, they blamed the violence on the Second Amendment. When caught, top officials perjured themselves and tried to pretend it was part of some “investigation.” But then, news emerged that the supposed “target” of the “investigation” was already on the FBI's payroll. The media did its best to sweep it all under the rug.
Drug trafficking by “Deep State” intelligence agencies has long been something of an open secret. More than a few officials, drug lords, and analysts have said the CIA and other secretive agencies actually run the global trade in narcotics. Former DEA chief Robert Bonner, during an explosive interview with CBS, revealed that his agency had learned that the CIA unlawfully imported a ton of cocaine into the United States in cooperation with the Venezuelan government. More recently, a Mexican official accused the CIA of “managing” the global drug trade. “It is impossible to pass tons of drugs or cocaine to U.S. without some grade of complicity of some American authorities,” observed Mexican President Felipe Calderon in a 2009 interview with the BBC. And an explosive 2014 investigation by the Mexican newspaper El Universal revealed that for over a decade, under multiple administrations, the U.S. government even had a secret agreement with the ruthless Mexican Sinaloa drug cartel that allowed it to operate with impunity and ship drugs into America at will.

Regime Change, War
Leaving drugs aside, the CIA also has a long history of overthrowing foreign governments without any semblance of a constitutional declaration of war from Congress. From Iran and Guatemala to Congo and the Dominican Republic, the CIA has played a key role in overthrowing more than a half-dozen governments where its involvement is publicly known — and probably plenty more where the CIA’s role is still hidden. Foreign Policy estimates the number of governments overthrown by the CIA at seven. That does not include numerous other operations where the U.S. government — or the “Deep State” — used military intervention, assassination, or backing for homegrown insurgencies. And that does not even include interventions where there was not regime change but where other goals were pursued. Critics say the real numbers are much higher. As if that was not enough, the CIA also played a crucial role in imposing the European Union on the once self-governing peoples of Europe, as official documents show.
In some cases, elements of the “Deep State” have even shown that they are not above using “false flags” to carry out their agenda. Documents from the U.S. Defense Department on Operation Northwoods, for example, outlined a proposed plot in in the early 1960s to have the CIA or other “Deep State” agency perpetrate terrorist attacks against American or Cuban civilians or military targets to blame it on the Castro regime. One scenario involved shooting down an airliner. Another involved bombings in Miami. Yet another would have sunk a boat filled with refugees fleeing Castro's tyranny. “The desired resultant from the execution of this plan would be to place the United States in the apparent position of suffering defensible grievances from a rash and irresponsible government of Cuba and to develop an international image of a Cuban threat to peace in the Western Hemisphere,” the document states. The plan was ultimately rejected by then-President John F. Kennedy, but the fact that it was developed at all is very revealing.
Ironically, the regime in Cuba was put into power with key help from the U.S. government and the “Deep State behind the Deep State,” which will be examined in an upcoming article. The U.S. Ambassador to Cuba, Earl Smith, wrote a book about it, The Fourth Floor, and testified to Congress that Castro would never have come to power without U.S. government support. Indeed, Deep State machinations have been responsible for putting into power and empowering, even militarily, all sorts of monstrous and murderous regimes around the world that have later become “enemies.” CIA documents prove that the Deep State even helped arm Iraqi tyrant Saddam Hussein with weapons of mass destruction prior to the Persian Gulf War, even though the CIA knew he was perpetrating brutal crimes against his own people and others.
Mind Control, Spying
Under the guise of fighting communist brainwashing, the CIA also engaged in horrific experiments aimed at studying and understanding mind control. Among other tactics, federal officials used LSD and mind-altering chemicals, surviving files from the CIA's Project MKUltra show. According to declassified CIA documents, congressional investigations, and testimony from victims, other efforts to control and engineer human behavior explored by Washington, D.C., involved hypnosis, sexual abuse, and torture. Then-CIA boss Richard Helms reportedly sought to obstruct congressional investigations by ordering all MKUltra documents destroyed. Still, at least two congressional committees investigating the CIA’s mind-control programs uncovered horrifying experiments often performed on unwitting victims — in some cases, on individuals confined in mental institutions, and even children.
The “intelligence” component of the Deep State has also used propaganda and manipulation of the media — even against Americans. One stunning but proven example revealed in declassified documents was the CIA's Project Mockingbird (also known as Operation Mockingbird). According to official documents, the scheme, launched in the early 1950s, aimed to hijack the U.S. media to parrot CIA propaganda. While many of the documents are heavily redacted, it is clear that the CIA program was wildly successful in recruiting globalist pseudo-journalists to do the Deep State's bidding. Among the names mentioned in the documents are Joseph Harsch of the Christian Science Monitor; Henry Luce, founder of Time and Life magazines; Walter Lippman of the Los Angeles Times Syndicate; CBS' William S. Paley; Time magazine's John Scott; Harry Schwartz of the New York Times; Chalmers Roberts of the Washington Post; Newsweek's Malcolm Muir; and more. William F. Buckley, founder of neocon journal National Review, was also a CIA lackey. Each of those was also a member of the globalist Council on Foreign Relations, part of the Deep State behind the Deep State. Over 400 American “journalists” carried out assignments for the CIA, according to documents cited by Carl Bernstein of the Washington Post.
Then, of course, there is the lawless spying on Americans, revealed by whistleblowers. Among the most important insiders to expose the illegal spying was William Binney, a senior NSA official who spent 30 years at the NSA before resigning to expose the criminal surveillance of the American people. “I knew I could not stay because it was a direct violation of the constitutional rights of everybody in the country,” he explained, citing the “Stellar Wind” program. “[The NSA] can build up knowledge about everyone in the country, and having that knowledge then allows them the ability to concoct all kinds of charges if they want to target you.” Basically, the NSA knows virtually everything about everyone, he suggested, adding that they have collected and stored most of the e-mails sent and received by Americans and at least 80 percent of phone calls. Later, Edward Snowden also revealed that the NSA was spying on essentially everyone, all the time, with help from Big Business. All of that data is being stored in places such as an NSA facility in Utah that can save a “yottabyte” of information, equivalent to about 500 quintillion pages of text.

Even Congress is not safe from the Deep State “intelligence” machine's illegal snooping. In 2014, Senate Select Intelligence Committee Chairman Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) accused the CIA of spying on her committee's staffers charged with oversight over the CIA. She also said the agency had deleted files from the Senate Committee's computers. Speaking on the floor of the Senate, Feinstein, who is normally an apologist for the Deep State and illegal spying, said the CIA machinations against Congress may have violated the separation of powers principles of the U.S. Constitution. “It may have undermined the constitutional framework essential to effective congressional oversight of intelligence activities or any other government function,” she continued, adding that several CIA officials had admitted the scheming. In that case, the target was a Committee report exposing CIA harsh “interrogation” techniques and CIA lies about it. But with the ability to spy on lawmakers (or Supreme Court justices) comes the ability to blackmail them, too.
Perhaps even more alarming than spying on Americans and their elected officials are the Deep State's murders — and murder is the correct term, because the victims have usually never even been charged with a crime, much less convicted by a jury in a court of law. So extreme have the developments become that a former senior intelligence official told the Washington Post that the CIA had been turned into “one hell of a killing machine.” A former leader of the CIA and NSA was caught on video in 2014 bragging in public about how the “intelligence” apparatus murders people based just on their metadata. Today, the CIA has murdered thousands of people around the world using missiles fired from drones. It seems Obama was fond of using the CIA as his own personal assassination squad, as recounted in the book The Way of the Knife: The CIA, a Secret Army, and a War at the Ends of the Earth by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Mark Mazzetti. But it is almost certainly not a recent development. In 1975, it emerged in Senate testimony that the CIA had developed a gun that shoots an “ice dart.” The frozen projectile would enter the body and cause a heart attack upon melting, leaving virtually no evidence of the crime. Top officials have suggested that today, the CIA can murder people by hacking into their cars, too, again leaving no observable evidence.
Deep State Exposed
Since Trump burst on to the national political stage in the latest election, most of the criticism about the Deep State's “intelligence” network has come from conservatives and Republicans. Even some honest Democrats, though, have expressed concerns about the “Deep State” intelligence community and its apparent war on the president — and by extension those who elected him. “You have politicization of agencies that is resulting in leaks from anonymous, unknown people and the intention is to take down a president,” former Congressman Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio) told Fox News’ Sean Hannity. “Now, this is very dangerous to America. It's a threat to our republic, it constitutes a clear and present danger to our way of life. So we have to be asking, what is the motive of these people? Who's putting these leaks out? Why doesn't somebody come forward and make a charge and put their name and reputation behind it, instead of attacking through the media and not substantiating their position?”
After confirming that he believed President Trump was “under attack” by the “deep state intelligence community,” Kucinich went even further, saying that it targets anyone who stands in its way. He also suggested that the “deep state” was at work setting policy under Obama, too. “Not only that, Sean, it has to be pointed out in October of 2016, that same deep state overrode the decision of President Obama and Secretary Kerry, to come to an agreement with Russia to a ceasefire in Syria,” said Kucinich, a leading anti-war Democrat targeted by the establishment for his honesty. “They overrode it and launched an attack against a Syrian military base. So, this is a problem in our country. We've got to protect our nation here. People have to be aware of what's going on. We've got to stand up for America, this isn't about Democrat, Republican. This is about getting what's going on in the moment and understanding that our country itself is under attack from within."
As the next article in this series will show, many of the ostensible kingpins of the “Deep State” intelligence apparatus, as well as their key enablers, are deeply intertwined with the Deep State behind the Deep State. For example, CIA and NSA bosses routinely attend Bilderberg meetings, and often have deep links to the Council on Foreign Relations and/or the Trilateral Commission, two visible organs of the Deep State's Deep State. Disgraced General David Petraeus, who was put in charge of the CIA, is a regular Bilderberg attendee and a member of the globalist Council on Foreign Relations, which has openly expressed its goal of undermining national sovereignty in favor of "global governance." When he was done with his government “service,” as with many other supposed “public servants,” he was scooped up by Wall Street investment behemoth KKR. Now, he spends some of his time shilling for the end of America and the emergence of a European Union-style “North America.” His agenda and trajectory are typical among Deep State swamp creatures.
Another typical Deep State “intelligence” operative deeply intertwined with the Deep State behind the Deep State is Michael Hayden, who has led both the CIA and the NSA. Like Petraeus, Hayden is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and has attended the secretive annual Bilderberg gatherings. He has also publicly expressed sentiments that, in a sane nation governed by the rule of law, would instantly result in his indictment for mass murder. “We kill people based on metadata,” he bragged at the 2014 Johns Hopkins University’s Foreign Affairs Symposium when explaining how important the illegal spying and collection of metadata was to the “intelligence” bureaucracies' machinations. More than a few critics have also suggested that Hayden should be prosecuted for his role in approving torture, which is a federal felony that could even result in the death penalty being imposed if a victim died. Many of Hayden's victims died, as have their children and families.

The “Deep State” and its “intelligence” component are coming into public view amid the election of Donald Trump, the spying on his campaign and his transition, the “unmasking” scandal, the carefully orchestrated take-down of National Security Adviser Mike Flynn, and other developments. Meanwhile, Deep State operatives and “Swamp creatures” are burrowed firmly into the Trump administration. Among them is National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster, another CFR member and Bilderberg attendee who has been protecting Obamaites and purging Trump loyalists from the National Security Council. But the fact that polls show a strong plurality of Americans now recognize that the “Deep State” exists is very encouraging news. Almost half of Americans see the Deep State, while just a third believe it's only a "conspiracy theory." At this point, it is up to Americans to educate themselves on the threat, expose it, and stop it. The alternative is an end to self-government and everything that entails».
Alex Newman («Deep State "Intelligence" Threateans Trump, Self-Government», in The New American, 26 October 2017).
«If you were a Martian visitor just disembarked from of one of Elon Musk’s rocket ships and were therefore uninfected by earth-based fake news, the culprits in Washington’s witch-hunt de jure would be damn obvious.
They include John Brennan, Jim Comey, Sally Yates, Peter Strzok and a passel of deep state operatives — all of whom baldly abused their offices. After Brennan had concocted the whole Russian election meddling meme to sully the Donald’s shocking election win, the latter three holdovers — functioning as a political fifth column in the new Administration — set a perjury trap designed to snare Mike Flynn as a first step in relitigating and reversing the voters’ verdict.
The smoking gun on their guilt is so flamingly obvious that the ability of the Trump-hating media to ignore it is itself a wonder to behold.
After all, anyone fresh off Elon’s rocket ship would learn upon even cursory investigation of the matter that the National Security Agency (NSA) intercepts electronically every single communication of the Russian Ambassador with any person on US soil — whether by email, text or phone call.
So the clear-minded visitor’s simple question would be: What do the transcripts say?
In fact, a Martian visitor would also quickly understand that the entire world — friend, rival, foe and enemy, alike — already knows of NSA’s giant digital spying operation owing to Snowden’s leaks, and that therefore there are no “sources and methods” on the SIGINT (signals intelligence) front to protect.
Accordingly, the disinterested Martian would undoubtedly insist: Declassify the NSA intercepts and publish them on Facebook (and, for old timers, on the front page of the New York Times) so that the truth would be known to all.
The Deep State Watergate
Of course, that would punch a deep hole in the entire RussiaGate witchhunt because NSA, in fact, did record Flynn’s late December conversations with Russian Ambassador Kislyak. And there was not a single word in them that related to alleged campaign collusion or otherwise inappropriate communications by the in-coming national security adviser to a newly-elected President who was three-weeks from inauguration.
Indeed, as explained below, Mueller has effectively told us that Flynn’s communications with Kislyak were clean as a whistle.
Accordingly, there was no reason whatsoever — as in none, nichts, nada and nugatory, too — for the FBI’s January 24th interview of Flynn. Four days after the inauguration, Acting Attorney General Sally Yates and the FBI were wasting the time of the new President’s national security advisor for no earthly reason except to administer a “gotcha quiz” on what they knew from the transcripts to be completely innocent conversations with the Russian Ambassador.
The content of the calls was entirely about pending policy matters. That is, the UN security council resolution condemning Israel’s settlements policy and Obama’s belligerent new anti-Russia sanctions. With respect to both of these matters, the incoming President had a publicly known policy position different from the incumbent’s, and about which his team was completely entitled to communicate with official foreign ambassadors.
So the January 24th interview itself was a Nixonesque abuse of the nation’s law enforcement machinery to strike at a political enemy — albeit a mighty legitimate one who had just become occupant of the Oval Office by will of the American people.
These new-style Deep State “plumbers” who openly broke into the White House that day, in fact, conducted a blatant entrapment exercise with malice aforethought. Its only possible purpose was to bait Flynn into contradicting the word-for-word transcripts in the FBI’s possession — intercepts which had been illegally “unmasked” by Brennan’s political witch-hunt for Russian election malefactors.

And we use the “illegal” word purposefully to underscore that the only ultimate justice here is for Obama’s rogue CIA director to be locked-up.
Brennan’s post-election leakathon of phony Russian meddling accusations was so threadbare of valid national security evidence that it even included falsehoods from the completely discredited and ludicrous Steele dossier — which was paid for by the DNC and Clinton campaign. And it culminated in the evidence-free screed of January 6th that was nosily presented to Obama as an intelligence community’s assessment but was actually a hatchet-job authored by Brennan and a hand-picked silo of anti-Trump analysts and fiction-writers like the now outed Peter Strzok of the FBI.
Issued under cover of the CIA, FBI, NSA and Director of National Intelligence (the confirmed liar, James Clapper), this document amounted to a sweeping abuse of the national security apparatus in furtherance of purely political purposes and vengeance against Deep State critics. It capped a 5-month long, Brennan led campaign of naked political exploitation of the national security machinery that made the Nixon White House look like a Boy Scout Jamboree.
As we will demonstrate below, Brennan never had hard proof of Trump campaign collusion with the Russians to influence the election because if it existed it would have leaked in full “smoking gun” splendor long ago.
The Russian Hoax
We are referring here, again, to NSA digital intercept evidence that Russian state actors used the internet to remotely hack the Podesta and DNC servers in order to steal and then disseminate their politically embarrassing contents and thereby “influence” the US election in Trump’s favor.
Yet aside from the asinine claims about Russian troll farms and trivial amounts of Facebook ads and other such social media monkey business, that’s all she wrote. There has been no other tangible allegations of election “meddling” that rise to even minimal plausibility.
And you don’t have to be fresh off Musk’s Martian rocket ship to recognize it; you can google it yourself, but nothing — we mean — nothing comes up on the screen.
Yet as to the DNC emails, there has already been a compelling demonstration by ex-NSA super SIGNET sleuth, William Binney, that the DNC emails were downloaded on a memory stick by a staff insider from his own computer, not remotely hacked by Russian trolls.
That’s because the download speed of 22.7 megabytes per second embedded in the Guccifer publication of the DNC email trove was impossible to achieve from Russia or Romania or anywhere else outside of the DNC offices in July 2016 when the “hack” allegedly occurred. The highest average ISP speeds in the US during the first-half of 2016 were achieved by Xfinity and Cox Communications at 15.6 megabytes per second and 14.7 megabytes per second, respectively, while average speeds on US systems were in the order of 11 megabytes per second.
In short, the embarrassing DNC emails about election-rigging against Bernie Sanders by the Democratic Party apparatus were almost surely sucked out of the DNC’s servers by an insider with a thumb drive (which can download at the indicated speeds), not some nefarious Kremlin operative 3,000 miles away.
And as for Podesta’s emails, the Donald was surely right all along: Any 400-pound slob on a couch could have hacked an email account protected by a password called, well, “password”.
Stated differently, if either of these email troves were “hacked” by remote Russian agents the digital footprint of that action is stored at one of the massive NSA server farms.
Accordingly, it would have been unmasked at the get-go by Brennan’s hand-picked apparatchiks, thereby giving rise to another virtual certainty: Namely, such NSA intercepts, if they actually existed, would be such politically radioactive “proof” of Trump collusion that they would have been leaked from the endlessly porous US government long ago.
Moreover, any such digital evidence — which must exist or there was never a hack in the first place — would have drastically foreshortened Mueller’s investigation, too. That is, Mueller would have gotten NSA’s digital logs the day he opened up shop in May and would have had no other investigative task than to track down any digital evidence of Trump campaign involvement with such a Russian hacking operation.
We say “digital evidence” because unless one of Trump’s inner circle traveled to Moscow to secretly collude with the Kremlin in an off-the-grid manner on the DNC/Podesta hacks, NSA would also have the intercepts to prove it. To wit, the schedules, phone calls, text messages and emails of the Trump family and inner circle are all out there in the NSA server farms. Every one of them.
Were there a shred of evidence on these digital logs proving or even hinting at Trump campaign complicity in the alleged DNC/Podesta hacks, it would not have been overlooked by the Brennan’s inquisitors; and it would have been dispatched by Mueller’s gunslingers in no time at all.
So let’s be clear on the matter. The Donald is the ultimate seat-of-the-pants one man show who essentially relies upon his four family members (Donald Jr., Eric, Ivanka and Jared Kushner) and a few trusted advisors. Yet none of them were sent to Russia during the relevant time frame — and had they colluded in any other way Mueller would have nailed them for any untoward digitized interactions with the Russians in a heartbeat.
That’s right. Anyone disembarking from Elon’s rocket ship could also google the fact that only two people — Carter Page and George Papadopoulos — even remotely involved with the Trump campaign went to Russia or tried to go there.
But Carter Page was a no-count volunteer who went to Moscow on his own dime and who never even met Trump.
Likewise, Baby George Papadopoulos was a 29-year old kid who got drafted onto Trump’s foreign policy advisory panel from, apparently, the phone book when the GOP foreign policy establishment boycotted to nearly a man/women the Trump campaign prior to the convention.
Accordingly, Baby George’s claim to fame is that he appeared in exactly one photo with the Donald on the day the foreign policy advisory committee was announced in order to appease an endlessly nagging gaggle in the press and among Trump’s legions of opponents.
If Papadopoulos had done anything more serious than sit for a photo op designed to prove Trump got his foreign policy advise other than from “watching TV,” as the Donald had previously averred, his guilty plea would have hinted at it.
But, no, what Mueller’s high priced legal gun-slingers got him on was — again — technical perjury. So as we review Mike Flynn’s alleged crimes just recall that the Baby George’s sin was to say he meet some dufus UK professor — who was also a phony expert on Russian affairs — before Papadopoulos was announced as a foreign policy advisor on March 19, 2016.
As it happened, he actually meet him about a week earlier and was therefore truthful with the FBI. But these modern-day, hair-splitting Torquemadas nailed him for the “crime” of not mentioning that he knew on March 10 that he was to be appointed to the Trump committee, and that knowledge somehow colored his March 15 meeting with this no-count English go-between.
You can’t make this stuff up!
The Perjury Trap of the Century
In any event, how do we know that every word on the Flynn transcripts were perfectly legal and appropriate and did not in the slightest manner compromise so-called national security?
Simple. Mueller’s “Statement Of The Offense” tells us so.
In the case of the Russia sanctions conversation Flynn was trying to make peace, and in the case of the UN censure resolution against Israel he was trying to make trouble. But the latter is what presidents and their advisors do all the time, and the former is a wonderful idea that Washington should try far more often.
In fact, just consider the words of Mueller’s charge:
….FLYNN falsely stated that he did not ask Russia’s Ambassador to the United States (‘Russian Ambassador’) to refrain from escalating in response to sanctions that the United States has imposed against Russia. FLYNN also falsely stated that he did not remember a follow-up conversation in which the Russian Ambassador stated that Russia had chosen to moderate its response to those sanctions as a result of FLYNN’s request.
In fact, this criminal charge actually narrates the actual tick-tock of a more peaceful world struggling to be born in real time.
Accordingly, Mueller charges that on December 28th the Russian Ambassador first called Flynn after the Obama White House announced another spiteful round of petty sanctions against Putin associates.
The in-coming national security advisor, in turn, discussed “what if anything, to communicate to the Russian Ambassador” with a senior official of the Trump transition; and according to Mueller’s criminal complaint, the two agreed that “members of the Presidential Transition Team a Mar-a-Lago did not want Russia to escalate the situation.”
See here |
Good for them!
There upon the very same day Flynn dialed-up Kislyak and, as the felony charging document contends, “requested that Russia not escalate the situation and only respond to the U.S. Sanctions in a reciprocal manner.”
Self-evidently, the wheels of peace began to turn because the complaint notes that on December 30 “Russian President Vladimir Putin released a statement indicating that Russia would not take retaliatory measures in response to the U.S. Sanctions at the time.”
Indeed, Russia didn’t merely take “reciprocal” actions, as Flynn requested, but did absolutely nothing at all. Even more progress!
Then on the last day of the year, Kislyak called Flynn back and “informed him that Russia had chosen not to retaliate in response to FLYNN’s request”.
And then there is just white space in the Russia-related section of the charging document. Not a single word or hint that the Kremlin was paying off the Trump Administration for nefarious promises it had made in return for Russia’s campaign help.
For crying out loud, that white space itself proves there was not so much as a single clause or veiled code word in the transcripts about pre-election collusion or other untoward arrangements between the Trump campaign and the Kremlin — or the FBI plumbers would have asked about it on January 24, Flynn would have lied, and it would be in the plea deal.
Indeed, the possibility that there is something untoward in the Flynn intercepts which Mueller chose to keep under wraps and did not stipulate in the plea is preposterous in the extreme.
After more than one year of investigation that has produced exactly zero hard evidence of pre-election collusion it is beyond impossible that at long last Mueller would have abjured. That is, refrained from putting a grain of content into what anyone getting off Musk’s Mars rocket can see is an utterly bogus Russia meddling case.
At the end of the day, Mueller’s perjury did occur in the context of a crime. But the felony was the Brennan-led Russian meddling inquisition.
Especially after the shocking result on November 8, the Deep State and its collaborators and shills in the Democratic Party, official Washington and the mainstream media were not about to be rebuked by the unwashed demos of Flyover America.
Indeed, if you are not caught up in the RussiaGate hysteria and witch-hunt, it’s as plain as the nose on your face.
To be sure, the perjury trap sprung on Flynn was justified by Hillary partisan, Sally Yates, on the grounds that Flynn’s alleged “lie” to the Vice President left him vulnerable to “blackmail” by the Russians.
What undiluted hogwash!
The best poker player on today’s international stage, Vlad Putin, finally gets a US President with a rational attitude about Russia, and he plans to burn him day one? C’mon. Whether she intended it or not or had gamed it out thoroughly, the history records will show that the sanctimonious Hillary partisan and politically ambitious, Sally Yates, then and there killed the best chance for peace on earth since the Soviet Union fell in 1991.
Sally Yates, James Comey, and John Brennan are the real criminals here.
As Justin Raimondo so eloquently put it:
Think about it, folks: both the US and the Russians possess enough nuclear firepower to destroy all life on earth several times over. This sword of Damocles is hanging over us by a thread, just as it loomed large during the last cold war with Moscow. It’s a machinery of annihilation that is set on hair-trigger alert, and any number of events could unleash it: a miscalculation, a foolish bluff, a misunderstanding, a technical glitch, a showdown similar to the Cuban missile crisis. All that stands between us and utter extinction is the hope that this apparatus of death can be restrained by mutual agreement. Bravo to the Trump administration for making peace a priority. If this is now a crime, and even “treason,” as the mouth-breathers of #TheResistance would have it, well then let the Washington Inquisition make the most of it. The point was also underscored cogently by Andrew McCarthy of the National Review.
As McCarthy argues below, differences on foreign policy are essentially now being criminalized; and the Donald’s justified desire to shutdown the Brennan-inspired political witch-hunt called RussiaGate is being falsely characterized as obstruction of justice rather than what it actually is — an effort to prevent the Deep State’s insidious assault on American democracy from going any further.
While all that plays out, though, behold the frightening thing Mueller’s investigation has become: a criminalization of politics. In the new order of things, policy differences are the grist for investigation and prosecution.
Nevertheless, Trump’s victory caused consternation in the Obama administration for two reasons. First, and most obviously, Obama did not want his policies reversed. Second, neither Obama nor his party could abide a judgment of history holding that the election of Trump, the bane of their existence, was a result of the American people’s rejection of the Obama agenda and of Hillary Clinton, the hapless candidate nominated by Democrats to carry that agenda forward.

…The ongoing Mueller probe is not a good-faith investigation of suspected espionage or other crime. It is the exploitation of the executive’s intelligence-gathering and law-enforcement powers in order to (a) criminalize Trump political policies with which the Obama administration disagreed and (b) frame Clinton’s electoral defeat as the product of a traitorous scheme rather than a rejection of Democratic-party priorities.
Finally, we couldn’t agree more with McCarthy that General Flynn is a very foolish man. He was not required to speak to the FBI when agents came to interview him on January 24.
Moreover, as the former head of the Defense Intelligence Agency he surely knew that the FBI would have been monitoring Kislyak and that the FBI had recordings of the conversations the agents wanted to ask him about.
That he agreed to submit to the interview anyway, and then to lie, is surely one of the stupidest acts coming out of official Washington that we can recall from 47 years of observation. But perhaps it does explain why America’s legions of puffed-up generals have been such abysmal failures for onwards of a half-century now.
So it is fair enough to say that Flynn has no one to blame but himself, and that a person of such poor judgment should never have been chosen to be the president’s principal national security adviser in the first place.
Then again, the American people should also understand why Flynn has gone down and why the Donald’s political scalp is fairly waiting to be lofted from the Washington Monument.
To wit, the Deep State has turned its own crimes during and after the 2016 election into nothing less than a coup d’etat against American democracy».
Mises org. («WHY THE DEEP STATE IS AT WAR WITH TRUMP. The Russian hoax pushed by Clinton», in INFOWARS, December 5, 2017).
«Everything is not as it seems in politics. And in recent months, the American people have come closer than ever to figuring that out, with the notion of a shadowy “Deep State” secretly pulling the strings in Washington capturing the public imagination. There is indeed a “Deep State,” or perhaps several, that includes elements of Wall Street, career bureaucrats with views deeply at odds with those of mainstream America, as well as the “intelligence community” that does the dirty work and appears to accept no limits on its power. But little has been said about the Deep State behind the Deep State — or the real Deep State. Until now.
Parts of this shadowy network — the Council on Foreign Relations, the Trilateral Commission, Bilderberg, and more — are sometimes visible to the public, even if the establishment media rarely highlights the significance. Other powerful elements are practically invisible: Secret societies such as “Skull and Bones” and the Bohemian Grove, for example, which will be described in an upcoming article. But combined, it is clear that the Deep State behind the Deep State wields tremendous power over America and the world. The agenda is becoming clear, too. And if left unchecked, this powerful network of “Deep State” operatives fully intends to foist a draconian system on humanity that they often tout as the “New World Order.” But the American people have the power to stop it.
Much of what has been referred to as the “Deep State” is merely part of the government — the legions of entrenched Big Government bureaucrats and especially the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), the National Security Agency (NSA), and other secretive agencies. Other analysts have pointed — quite properly — to elements of the Big Business community. Former congressional staffer Mike Lofgren, a top-secret security clearance holder and one of the early voices to develop the idea of a “Deep State” in America, refers to it as “a hybrid entity of public and private institutions ruling the country." And he's right. But it goes even deeper than he seems to realize.
Of course, Lofgren was hardly the first to notice that the elected officials who supposedly control the government are not really in charge. Even close friends and associates of the Deep State behind the Deep State have commented on the issue, as it relates to party politics and elections. The late Georgetown University Professor Carroll Quigley, a mentor to President Bill Clinton, was for many years close to the core of the Deep State, and, while he disagreed with the secrecy, he admitted to agreeing with most of its aims. He was even allowed to examine their records for a period of time. And then, spilling the proverbial beans, Quigley put some of his explosive findings in his massive 1966 book Tragedy and Hope. Referring to the Deep State as “international Anglophile network,” the professor said he had “no aversion to it or to most of its aims,” and added that he had been “close to it and many of its instruments” for much of his life.
On political parties and using elections to change course in government, Quigley ridiculed the idea. “The argument that the two parties should represent opposed ideals and policies, one, perhaps, of the Right and the other of the Left, is a foolish idea acceptable only to doctrinaire and academic thinkers,” Quigley wrote in his book, which reportedly made the Deep State quite upset. “Instead, the two parties should be almost identical, so that the American people can ‘throw the rascals out’ at any election without leading to any profound or extensive shifts in policy.”
Quigley also offered insight into the agenda and machinations of the real Deep State. “The powers of financial capitalism had another far-reaching aim, nothing less than to create a world system of financial control in private hands able to dominate the political system of each country and the economy of the world as a whole,” he explained. “This system was to be controlled in a feudalist fashion by the central banks of the world acting in concert, by secret agreements arrived at in frequent private meetings and conferences.” Some of those meetings, such as the G20, are well known. Others, while even more important, are almost never mentioned, and remained virtually unknown to most Americans.
There exists a shadowy network of organizations controlled by the Deep State behind the Deep State that serves to coordinate the operations and tentacles of the machine. While secretive, many of the outfits are not secret societies in the true sense of the term. In fact, they have websites, put out reports, and in many cases make their membership lists public. That these organizations wield incredible power in government, media, academia, military, banking, intelligence, business, and more is beyond dispute.
Council on Foreign Relations
What Professor Quigley revealed in Tragedy and Hope was huge. “There does exist, and has existed for a generation, an international Anglophile network which operates, to some extent, in the way the radical Right believes the Communists act,” Quigley wrote in his book. “In fact, this network, which we may identify as the Round Table Groups, has no aversion to cooperating with the Communists, or any other groups, and frequently does so.” The leading Round Table Groups he identifies include the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) in the United States and its sister organization in Britain known as the Royal Institute of International Affairs (RIIA,or the Chatham House).
In America, the CFR is among the most powerful organizations representing the public face of the Deep State behind the Deep State. To get some sense of how influential the outfit is, consider the words of then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, whose husband and daughter are members, in a 2009 speech at the CFR's new office in Washington. “I am delighted to be here in these new headquarters,” she said. “I have been often to, I guess, the mother ship in New York City, but it’s good to have an outpost of the Council right here down the street from the State Department. We get a lot of advice from the Council, so this will mean I won’t have as far to go to be told what we should be doing and how we should think about the future.”
In other words, the unelected CFR establishment sets policy, and the visible government implements it. The same applies to the establishment wing of the Republican Party, which is also dominated by CFR operatives. Knowing how toxic the CFR label has become politically among conservatives, though, leading CFR “Republicans” actually boast of their dishonesty in concealing their membership from the public. George W. Bush's Vice President Dick Cheney, for example, was filmed on video bragging: “I've been a member [of the CFR] for a long time, and was actually a director for some period of time. I never mentioned that when I was campaigning for re-election back home in Wyoming.” He cackled, and the audience laughed. But he is hardly alone.
Members include virtually the entire establishment. Among others: vast swaths of the Republican and Democrat establishment; countless current and former members of Congress and senior bureaucrats; “journalists,” columnists, editors, anchors, commentators, and media execs; CEOs, chairmen, and presidents of mega-banks; multiple cabinet secretaries in every administration going back generations; current Supreme Court justices; former presidents and vice-presidents; Federal Reserve bosses; celebrities; mega-church pastors; military brass; ambassadors, diplomats, and bureaucrats at international organizations; tax-exempt foundation chiefs and executives; leaders and professors at key universities across the country; and “intelligence community” bosses who do much of the dirty work. Even some pseudo-conservative “leaders,” mostly neocons, are involved.
Corporate members include the world's largest bailed-out mega-banks, Big Oil, Big Pharma, crony capitalists, the military-industrial complex, publishing houses, along with much of the establishment media. Among the mega-banks and financial giants: Goldman Sachs, Bank of America, JPMorgan Chase, American Express, Citigroup, Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank, Soros Fund Management, Bank of New York Mellon Corporation, Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, Crédit Agricole, Rothschild North America, Inc., and more. Military-industrial complex: DynCorp, Booz Allen Hamilton Inc., Raytheon Company, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, and more. Big Oil: ExxonMobil, Shell, Chevron, BP, Hess, and more. Media: News Corp (Fox News, Wall Street Journal, New York Post, National Geographic, and more), Time Warner (CNN, HBO), The Economist, Bloomberg, and more.
While not everyone involved supports the globalist Deep State agenda, most do, defectors have said. The late Admiral Chester Ward, a CFR member for almost 20 years before defecting and blowing the whistle, explained the danger of the CFR, its agenda, and the ideology of most of its members. “Once the ruling members of CFR have decided that the U.S. Government should adopt a particular policy, the very substantial research facilities of CFR are put to work to develop arguments, intellectual and emotional, to support the new policy, and to confound and discredit, intellectually and politically, any opposition,” he explained.
“The most articulate theoreticians and ideologists prepare related articles, aided by the research, to sell the new policy and to make it appear inevitable and irresistible. By following the evolution of this propaganda in the most prestigious scholarly journal in the world, [CFR mouthpiece] Foreign Affairs, anyone can determine years in advance what the future defense and foreign policies of the United States will be,” he added. “If a certain proposition is repeated often enough in that journal, then the U.S. Administration in power — be it Republican or Democratic — begins to act as if that proposition or assumption were an established fact.”
The ultimate goal of the CFR, Ward warned, is global government. “The main purpose of the Council on Foreign Relations is promoting the disarmament of U.S. sovereignty and national independence, and submergence into an all-powerful one-world government,” warned the admiral, who served as the judge advocate of the U.S. Navy. “This lust to surrender the sovereignty and independence of the United States is pervasive throughout most of the membership.” Ward also revealed why the CFR's members would be so violently hostile to Trump's campaign promises. “In the entire CFR lexicon, there is no term of revulsion carrying a meaning so deep as ‘America First,’” he said. Trump, of course, campaigned on an America First platform to stop globalism.
The subversive agenda to betray the American people and subvert their independence, Constitution, and self-government has been made clear even in the CFR's own propaganda organs such as the CFR magazine Foreign Affairs. In April 1974, for example, Richard Gardner, former deputy assistant secretary of state, explained how the agenda for world government would be pursued. “In short, the ‘house of world order’ will have to be built from the bottom up rather than from the top down,” he wrote. “An end run around national sovereignty, eroding it piece by piece, will accomplish much more than the old fashioned assault.” Deception and a slow subversion process, then, are the tools of the CFR. The magazine also regularly promotes regional government, illegal war, and other extreme positions.
The Trilateral Commission
Another outfit like the CFR, only more “elite” and more international, is the Trilateral Commission, founded in 1973 by the late globalist and self-described conspirator for a one world order David Rockefeller. Aside from Rockefeller, who in his memoirs boasted of “conspiring” with a “secret cabal” against the best interests of America to form a “one world” order, the other key figure behind the Trilateral Commission was Zbigniew Brzezinski, advisor to Rockefeller and the National Security Advisor to President Jimmy Carter. His writings greatly impressed Rockefeller. Among other bizarre ideas, the late globalist, in his 1970 book Between Two Ages, argued that America was “obsolete.”
While he acknowledged some of the problems in the Soviet Union, Brzezinski also showered praise on Marxism. “Marxism represents a further vital and creative stage in the maturing of man's universal vision,” he wrote. “Marxism is simultaneously a victory of the external, active man over the inner, passive man and a victory of reason over belief: it stresses man's capacity to shape his material destiny — finite and defined as man's only reality — and it postulates the absolute capacity of man to truly understand his reality as a point of departure for his active endeavors to shape it. To a greater extent than any previous mode of political thinking, Marxism puts a premium on the systematic and rigorous examination of material reality and on guides to action derived from that examination.”
Following his attack on obsolete America and his praise for Marxism, Brzezinski, a member of the CFR before his death, goes on to advocate the creation of “a council for global cooperation” bringing together “the United States, Japan, and Western Europe.” This body, he wrote, would “be concerned with political strategy” and “bringing together the political leaders of states sharing certain common aspirations and problems of modernity.” But in the end of the book, as pointed out by The New American's C. Mitchell Shaw in Brzezinski's obituary, Brzezinski reveals the real purpose of his proposed council: Another step on the road to world government.
“To sum up: Though the objective of shaping a community of the developed nations is less ambitious than the goal of world government, it is more attainable,” he wrote. “It is more ambitious than the concept of an Atlantic community but historically more relevant to the new spatial revolution. Though cognizant of present divisions between communist and non-communist nations, it attempts to create a new framework for international affairs not by exploiting these divisions but rather by striving to preserve and create openings for eventual reconciliation. Finally, it recognizes that the world's developed nations have a certain affinity, and that only by nurturing a greater sense of communality among them can an effective response to the increasing threat of global fragmentation — which itself intensifies the growing world-wide impatience with human inequality — be mounted.”
Much less has been written about the Trilateral Commission than, say, the CFR, but its influence is nevertheless enormous. And even well-respected conservatives have long recognized the threat this outfit poses to liberty and America. In his 1979 memoir With No Apologies, Senator Barry Goldwater exposed its agenda. “In my view the Trilateral Commission represents a skillful, coordinated effort to seize control and consolidate the four centers of power — political, monetary, intellectual, and ecclesiastical,” he wrote. “What the Trilaterals truly intend is the creation of a worldwide economic power superior to the political governments of the nation-states involved.... As managers and creators of the system they will rule the future.”
Around that time, a major expose of the Trilateral Commission was written by Stanford historian Antony Sutton and researcher Patrick Wood entitled Trilaterals Over Washington. In a recent statement, Wood highlighted the significance. "The Trilateral Commission was international, founded to create a 'New International Economic Order,'" Wood explained. "Their members have been the architects and drivers of all modern globalization, including that which comes through the United Nations as Sustainable Development and Green Economy. Although the Trilateral Commission is international in scope, in the U.S. they are more than just being part of the so-called Deep State, they ARE the Deep State!"
The Bilderberg Meetings
In addition to the CFR and the Trilateral Commission is yet another shadowy outfit with Rockefeller and other establishment globalists at its core: Bilderberg. Until recent years, the network, which hosts annual meetings, was virtually unknown to the American public, despite the regular attendance of many of the world's most influential people and their useful idiots. Among the attendees is a collection of powerful figures from Big Government, Big Green, Big Media, Big Oil, Big Espionage, Big Banks, Big War, Big Internet, Big Foundations, Big Communism, Big Data, and most of the other important “Bigs.” Virtually all of the attendees share at least one common element though: a devotion to globalism and secrecy.
In public, at least Bilderberg summit organizers work to downplay the confab as a mere off-the-record discussion forum. A press release from Bilderberg released ahead of this year’s summit in Chantilly, Va., for example, claims the purpose is merely “to foster dialogue between Europe and North America.” “There is no desired outcome, no minutes are taken and no report is written. Furthermore, no resolutions are proposed, no votes are taken, and no policy statements are issued,” the statement claims. Numerous attendees, though, have suggested and even openly admitted in public statements over the years that much more than a mere “private talk” is in fact going on at the controversial summit.
In fact, attendees have admitted that policy is set behind closed doors. For example, in 2010, former NATO boss and two-time Bilderberg attendee Willy Claes said in a radio interview that reports of speeches given at the summit are compiled. “The participants are then obviously considered to use this report in setting their policies in the environments in which they affect,” Claes added, which analysts said was essentially an admission that Bilderberg attendees are secretly plotting your future behind closed doors.
The year before Claes’ admission, then-Bilderberg chairman Etienne Davignon — a former European Union commissar and current Belgian minister of state — told the online EUobserver that the summits “helped create” the controversial euro currency imposed on 17 formerly sovereign European nations. Much evidence also suggests that the summits played a major role in foisting the EU super-state on the peoples of Europe against their will — a process that continues despite the lack of public support. Speaking to the BBC in 2005, Davignon also admitted that at the summit, “automatically around the table you have internationalists.”
More recently, despite protestations to the contrary, a Bilderberg attendee and the leader of the Socialist International-aligned Dutch Labor Party admitted on camera this year that he was at the summit in his official capacity as parliamentary leader. Asked if he was there in an informal capacity, he responded: “Well, I’m formal, because being a politician, you’re 24/7, so there’s no way of exiting my role.” The Bilderberg website says, “Participants take part in the conference as individuals in their own right,” but the comments by the Dutch lawmaker and “sustainability” zealot Diederik Samsom suggest otherwise.
More than 15 years ago, meanwhile, far-left Bilderberg attendee Will Hutton — a former British newspaper editor, rabid pro-EU extremist, and vehement opponent of American conservatism — also hinted at the influence of the gathering. “[Bilderberg] is one of the key meetings of the year,” he wrote in 1998. “The consensus established is the backdrop against which policy is made worldwide.” The admission could not get much clearer than that.
Aside from guiding policy, a great deal of anecdotal evidence suggests Bilderberg plays a major role in selecting the policymakers who will foist the schemes on an unsuspecting public. In 1991, for example, a virtually unknown governor from Arkansas attended. Shortly after that, he became President Clinton. Obama, too, went to Bilderberg before becoming president. It is not just American politicians whose careers seem to get a major boost from attending the summits, either. Tony Blair, for example, attended Bilderberg as an opposition member of Parliament. He then became prime minister shortly afterwards. Numerous other British prime ministers have also attended. Other countries in Europe have faced similar occurrences, such as Bilderberg bigwig and Goldman Sachs operative Mario Monti being installed as the unelected prime minister of Italy in 2011.
At the European level — where voters and the peoples of Europe have virtually no say — the same phenomenon has been observed. In 2005, the state-funded BBC noted, “All the recent presidents of the European Commission attended Bilderberg meetings before they were appointed.” EU overlords, of course, are not elected. In 2009, meanwhile, former Belgian Prime Minister Herman Van Rompuy — a virtual nobody unknown throughout the bloc — was mysteriously installed as EU “president” days after attending the confab. He promptly announced that “global governance” was advancing.
Indeed, what unites the seemingly disparate globalists appears to be mainly their fanatical devotion to globalism — the transfer of political power away from nations and people to unaccountable supranational regimes. Based on their public statements, it appears that virtually every attendee at Bilderberg is and has been a proponent of global and regional governance rather than national independence. In 2001, former British chancellor of the exchequer and Bilderberg bigwig Denis Healey even told the U.K. Guardian that it was a little “exaggerated, but not wholly unfair” to say that the outfit’s overall goal was to impose a global government on humanity. “Those of us in Bilderberg felt we couldn't go on forever fighting one another for nothing and killing people and rendering millions homeless,” he claimed. “So we felt that a single community throughout the world would be a good thing.” By “community,” globalists really mean government — after all, the European Union was a “community” before the full-blown super-state was openly announced.
Beyond the Bilderberg, CFR, the Trilaterals, and such establishment organs are secret societies including Skull and Bones, Bohemian Grove, and others. There are also key leaders of the Deep State behind the Deep State: Families such as the Rockefeller, Soros, and Rothschild, among them. Aside from their organizations and meetings, along with government, they operate through tax-exempt foundations. All of those topics will be explored in upcoming articles in The New American as part of this series on the Deep State. And beyond all those that are known are, undoubtedly, others that are not even known publicly. And for Christians and God-fearing people, there is certainly a spiritual component to it all. But Americans do not need to be helpless victims of these shadowy forces.
Unfortunately, Trump has many operatives for the real Deep State serving at the highest levels of his administration. More than a few of his cabinet secretaries, for example, are members of the CFR and/or attendees of Bilderberg. But, it is also becoming obvious that the Deep State behind the Deep State does not trust Trump — at best — and actively despises him at worst. That is a good sign, though it is no guarantee that anything will change.
Not just exposure but organization and concerted action are needed to effect positive change, according to Art Thompson, the chief executive officer of The John Birch Society, which has maintained since its founding that there is design behind America's long slide from constitutional government. “The John Birch Society has been the most consistent organization exposing the so-called Deep State for over 50 years and doing so in a responsible manner,” Thompson told The New American, which is an affiliate of the JBS. “There have been times when the exposure has hurt them greatly and usually exposure is all that needs to be done. But there may come a time when exposure will not be enough or perhaps impossible if enough people do not get involved to do something responsible about it now. The solution is to do what Jefferson said — bind the politicians down with the chains of the Constitution — force them to adhere to the Constitution. That is our job at hand and individual action is not enough. Organizational, concerted action is what is needed.”
Americans who wish to see a return to self-government under the Constitution must get involved. There is an incredible opportunity, now, to set the Deep State's globalist agenda back by decades or even generations. The American people, acting through Congress, will be the key. But to seize the opportunity, Americans must get educated, activated, and organized».

Deep State Secret Societies: Skull & Bones, Bohemians, Illuminati
Secret societies such as the Bohemian Grove and Skull and Bones play a major role in American affairs and have for generations; that much is clear and well-documented. But most Americans have paid little attention to what happens outside of the media spotlight — until now. In recent months, public perceptions have started to change as the “Deep State” exposes itself publicly in its war against America, the Constitution, humanity, and President Donald Trump. And in fact, thanks to hacked e-mails and public statements by members, it is now proven that many of the swamp creatures involved in the occult secret societies of America see Trump as a “disaster.”
Amid an unprecedented and highly coordinated campaign to destroy Trump, first as a candidate and later as a president, a fast-growing segment of the American electorate has realized that “We The People” have not been getting the full story. As part of that awakening, the concept of a “Deep State” or shadowy “swamp” working behind the scenes has captured the public imagination. The idea is now as “mainstream” as can be: Even establishment-media polls show about half of Americans now recognize definitively that the Deep State exists. Even the establishment press — a key component of the Deep State — has now acknowledged that the Deep State exists, if only to muddy the waters about its true nature. But in this series, The New American magazine plans to connect the dots.
It is true that the entrenched, anti-Trump federal bureaucracy — and especially the self-styled “intelligence community” — are crucial elements of the Deep State. But behind that Deep State is another Deep State; the “Deep State Behind the Deep State,” if you will, or the ruling establishment. Parts of this network are not quite secret. For example, in a recent article in this series on the Deep State, The New American highlighted the enormous role played by the semi-secret Council on Foreign Relations, the Trilateral Commission, the Bilderberg meetings, and other such outfits. But beyond those organizations, which operate websites and even release full or partial lists of members, are other organizations that are even more secretive. They remain largely unknown to the American people. But such “secret societies” have been working to spread their lawless doctrines in America since before it was even formally an independent self-governing nation.
The Historical Illuminati
Even America's first president, George Washington, was deeply concerned about the insidious machinations and influence of one particular secret society, and its infiltration in America. “It is not my intention to doubt that the doctrine of the Illuminati and the principles of Jacobinism had not spread in the United States,” Washington wrote in a letter to a friend. “On the contrary, no one is more satisfied of this fact than I am.” America's most prominent founding father also warned of the Illuminati's “diabolical tenets” being spread in America in a 1798 letter to Reverend G. W. Snyder, who had sent him a book on the society. Also in 1798, then-Yale President Timothy Dwight warned that the Illuminati was willing to use “murder, butchery, and war” to overthrow religion, government, and civilization. More than a few scholars recognized that the goals of these conspirators included overthrowing all the governments and religions of Europe to build a cosmopolitan so-called “brotherhood of man” while undermining family and property rights.
The historical Order of the Illuminati Washington and Dwight warned of was a secret society founded in Bavaria on May 1, 1776, by Adam Weishaupt, a professor of law at Ingolstadt University. According to Abbé Augustin Barruel in his book Memoirs Illustrating the History of Jacobinism, Weishaupt had been inspired by the teachings of 18th-century anti-Christian fanatics from France styling themselves “philosophers” such as Voltaire, Rousseau, and Diderot. The Illuminati's operations were first widely exposed to the public in the 1797 book Proofs of a Conspiracy Against All the Religions and Governments of Europe Carried on in the Secret Meetings of Freemasons, Illuminati and Reading Societies by John Robison, a university professor, Freemason, and the first general secretary to the Royal Society of Edinburgh. Even Washington had a copy of the important book in his library, according to the National Archives. Professor Robison documented, among other actions by the conspirators, the Illuminati's lead role in the murderous, barbarous French Revolution that tore France apart so badly that she never fully recovered.
The secret society of self-styled “Illuminated” ones became incredibly influential by attracting influential men and infiltrating the Masonic lodges of Europe, according to scholars who have studied it. Officially, though, the historical outfit known as the Illuminati, based on concentric circles of influence and secrets surrounding an inner core of conspirators, was said to have been disbanded after its wicked scheming was discovered by Bavarian authorities. The authorities informed their counterparts in other jurisdictions, some of whom also attempted to suppress the society. However, the Illuminati's subversive doctrines and ideas — described as “diabolical” by America's first president — clearly survived. Virtually the same evil principles articulated by Weishaupt and his band of criminals were articulated in The Communist Manifesto by Karl Marx and Fredrich Engels, for example. Today, many of those doctrines are taught as “truth” in American universities. And as Robison documented, the conspirators continued spreading their subversion across Europe.
More than a few prominent individuals have highlighted the role of Weishaupt (his Illuminati code-name was “Spartacus”) and the movement he founded in laying the groundwork for the modern-day global effort to bring down Christianity, liberty, and civilization. “From the days of Spartacus-Weishaupt to those of Karl Marx, and down to Trotsky (Russia), Bela Kun (Hungary), Rosa Luxembourg (Germany), and Emma Goldman (United States) ... this worldwide conspiracy for the overthrow of civilisation and for the reconstitution of society on the basis of arrested development, of envious malevolence, and impossible equality, has been steadily growing,” wrote future Prime Minister Winston Churchill in the U.K. Illustrated Sunday Herald in February of 1920. “It has been the mainspring of every subversive movement during the 19th century; and now at last this band of extraordinary personalities from the underworld of the great cities of Europe and America have gripped the Russian people by the hair of their heads and have become practically the undisputed masters of that enormous empire.”
Skull and Bones: Brotherhood of Death

By their very nature, “secret” societies are secret, and hence, difficult for outsiders to track and understand — that is, after all, the point of being “secret.” And so the relationship between historical organizations such as the Illuminati and modern-day secret societies, assuming there is a relationship, is murky at best. But secret societies that bear striking similarities in terms of practicing occultism, totalitarian ideology, subversive practices, obsessive secrecy, hatred of Christianity, and more continue to exist — even in America, today. One such organization operating in the United States today is known as the Skull and Bones society. It exists at Yale University, and is sometimes known as the “Brotherhood of Death.”
It was founded in 1832 by William H. Russell, whose family was in the opium business, shortly after his return from Germany. The German connection has led many analysts to speculate that Skull and Bones may be an American branch of an international movement — potentially even the Illuminati. But that is simply speculation at this point.
Among other concerns expressed by critics are the deeply occult rituals the society is known to engage in. These include bizarre, death-obsessed ceremonies that initiates are required to participate in if they wish to join. For instance, it has been widely reported, thanks to investigations and secret video tapes, that initiates are required to lie in a coffin while engaging in acts that cannot be repeated here while detailing their sexual history to their fellow “bonesmen,” as members are known. Footage of some of the society's bizarre rituals, which take place at a location known as “The Tomb,” has emerged in recent years. In film that was aired in 2001 by ABC News, for example, bonesmen can be seen and heard engaging in occult rituals involving, among other things, kissing human skulls, followed by what was described by the ABC host as a mock killing. The screams caught on tape are bloodcurdling.
While the society has largely operated from the shadows since its founding, it did earn some attention during the 2004 presidential election between then-President George W. Bush and then-Senator John Kerry (D-Mass.). Both were members of the society. In separate interviews, late Meet the Press host Tim Russert asked them about it, but got no real answer. “It's so secret we can't talk about it,” Bush responded. Kerry, when asked what it means that both he and Bush are members of Skull and Bones, said: “Not much, because it's a secret ... I wish there were something secret I could manifest, there are all kinds of secrets.” Bush also mentioned it in his autobiography: “My senior year I joined Skull and Bones, a secret society, so secret I can’t say anything more.” In other words, Americans were given a choice between two members of the same occult secret society, and neither candidate would say a word about it what the implications were.
Aside from the two presidential candidates in 2004, many “Bonesmen,” as they are known, have served at the highest levels of government, ranging from cabinet secretaries and senators to CIA bosses and Supreme Court justices and presidents. Among the prominent members: former President George H.W. Bush; James Jesus Angleton, credited with “mothering” the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA); neocon journal National Review founder William F. Buckley, Jr., a CIA agent and CFR member who advocated the denial of voting rights to black people while purporting to “purge” true conservatives from the “conservative” movement; Secretary of War Henry Stimson; Austan Goolsbee, chairman of President Barack Obama’s Council of Economic Advisors; leftist Washington Post columnist Dana Milbank; George H.W. Bush’s father, Senator Prescott Bush, who was embroiled in legal troubles for financing the Nazi war machine; multiple CFR founders and leaders; Frederick Smith, the founder of FedEx; Harold Stanley, founder of Morgan Stanley; international mega-banker Averill Harriman; Secretary of Defense Robert Lovett; and both President William Howard Taft and his son, Senator Robert A. Taft. Multiple Rockefellers have also been involved. While not all members go on to powerful positions, many certainly do.
Still today, little is known about the group, which unsurprisingly uses a skull and crossbones as a logo along with the number 322. But multiple investigations have been carried out by researchers over the years. Perhaps the most important was the book America’s Secret Establishment: An Introduction to the Order of Skull and Bones by Stanford University historian Antony Sutton. In essence, the book argues that Skull and Bones is a “recruiting ground for a global conspiracy for world government,” as history professor, author, and The New American writer Steve Byas explained. Sutton explains how the Bonesmen and their co-conspirators use the Hegelian dialectic to advance their agenda. “In this [dialectical] process change requires conflict, and conflict requires the clash of opposites,” he explains. “You can’t just have a ‘right,’ you must have a ‘right’ and a ‘left.’” Sutton wrote other incredible books exposing the Deep State behind the Deep State's role in promoting communism, including Wall Street and the Bolshevik Revolution. He also wrote the book Wall Street and the Rise of Hitler. And with researcher Patrick Wood, he wrote Trilaterals Over Washington, focusing on the Trilateral Commission. Each book offers crucial insight into the Deep State behind the Deep State.
Bohemian Grove

Another secret cabal operating in America is the Bohemian Grove, which attracts American presidents, cabinet secretaries, Big Business titans, mega-bankers, central bankers, “intelligence” agency bosses, military brass, and other leading Deep State characters. The outfit was founded after the Civil War by Henry Harry Edwards, originally as a club for artists, writers, journalists, and other “Bohemians” to get together and relax. Since then, though, the outfit has grown to include more than 2,500 of the world's richest and most powerful men — and only men are invited. While total secrecy is demanded from members, the membership rolls have included every GOP president (except Trump) since the early 1920s, along with many Democrats such as Jimmy Carter, as well as countless cabinet secretaries, leaders of Big Business, CIA chiefs, banking magnates, media barons, and more.
During the United Nations’ 1945 founding conference (chaired by Soviet spy Alger Hiss) in San Francisco, delegates from around the world were invited, too. “The Club and its members were major players in hosting the UN Delegates,” wrote scholar Peter Phillips in his dissertation for his doctorate in philosophy at the University of California, Davis. “Receptions for UNCIO delegates and key dignitaries were held at the Bohemian Club on May 17th, May 29th, June 4th and June 5th. Towards the end of the UN conference the Club invited all delegates to a program at the Grove.”
While the club's motto is “Weaving Spiders Come Not Here,” it is a known fact that plenty of official business is conducted there, especially at the lodges and camps. To get a sense of just how important in public affairs this occult confab is to the Deep State behind the Deep State, consider that former President Richard Nixon boasted of how crucial a speech he gave at the event was on his journey to the White House. “If I were to choose the speech that gave me the most pleasure and satisfaction in my political career, it would be my Lakeside Speech at the Bohemian Grove in July, 1967,” he explained. “Because this speech traditionally was off the record, it received no publicity at the time. But in many important ways it marked the first milestone on my road to the presidency. It was an emotional assignment for me and also an unparalleled opportunity to reach some of the most important and influential men.”
Aside from the power and influence are the occult ceremonies and the perversion that have become practically synonymous with the Bohemian Grove. For one, the men — among the world's most influential — are known to prance around the redwood forest naked and inebriated, urinating at will throughout the camp. More sinister, though, are the dark rituals, widely described as pagan at best or satanic at worst, that have been documented on video as occurring there. Perhaps most infamous is the ceremony involving what members claim is a “mock” human sacrifice known as the “Cremation of Care.” During the spectacle, the robed and hooded men gather, some carrying torches, under a 40-foot-tall owl idol that is widely said to be a representation of the Canaanite demon god Moloch, to whom babies and children were routinely sacrificed. Amid bizarre chanting and horrifying screaming, what members claimed was an “effigy” of a child is burned up as a sacrifice to the giant concrete owl.
Conservative radio talk-show titan Alex Jones once managed to sneak into the club and capture the occult ritual on video camera. It is even creepier than you might imagine. Jones posted the video online, offering the first known footage of the ceremony to the public — and confirming the existence and occult nature of a ceremony that had long been just the subject of unconfirmed rumors. Blurry still photographs of the event from a century ago provide evidence that the occult ritual has been going on for at least that long.
Later, Jones interviewed David Gergen, a regular attendee of Bohemian Grove and a leading advisor to four different presidents of both parties. Jones mentioned that Gergen had denied in media reports that he ran around naked at the confab, as other attendees are known to do, but did admit to being a “happy member” of Bohemian Grove who likes the folks who come there. “Have you been there for the ceremony, the Cremation of Care?” Jones asked. Gergen responded: “Frankly, I do not think that is something I need to talk to you about.” Apparently Gergen was confused, believing that Jones had been a member who did not follow his pledge not to disclose what goes on there publicly. “I don't respect you for that,” Gergen fumed. “You took an understanding that you would not do that film, and you did.” Of course, Jones took no oath and offered no “understanding,” because he went in without authorization.
Another one of the things that is known about the Bohemian Grove is that members were unsettled by then-candidate Trump and his promises to fight globalism, take on the establishment, promote Americanism, and pursue an “America First” policy. In a hacked e-mail posted by DCLeaks from former Secretary of State Colin Powell to Peter Gordon MacKay, Canada's former minister of justice, attorney general, minister of national defense, and minister of foreign affairs, Powell drops a bombshell. “I am back from the Bohemian Grove. Surprise, surprise, I sat next to [Canadian Prime Minister] Stephen Harper a couple of times and had a nice discussion,” wrote Powell, one of the leading figures in lying the American people into the Iraq war that resulted in the practical extermination of the ancient Christian communities there. “Grove attendees know that Trump is a disaster,” Powell continued, adding that “most will vote against” Trump.
Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, himself affiliated with the Bohemian Grove, explained that the establishment's disdain for Trump was related to the fact that the current president was not involved in the secret societies. Responding to Mitt Romney's attacks on Trump, Gingrich, who did back the president, said the attacks were a signal of “the panic of the establishment wing of the (Republican) Party.” The possibility of Trump winning the GOP nomination “absolutely drives them crazy,” Gingrich added. When asked why, Gingrich dropped a bombshell. “Well because he’s an outsider, he’s not them, he’s not part of the club, he’s uncontrollable, he hasn’t been through the initiation rites, he didn’t belong to the secret society,” said the former House Speaker, who apparently was seeking a job in the Trump administration.
Beyond those secret and non-secret organizations that make up the Deep State behind the Deep State, there are almost certainly other cabals of totalitarian-minded globalists whose names and even members remain largely unknown to the public. Indeed, there are likely secret societies that are so secret they remain virtually unknown to any non-members. Some of the secret history these societies have tried to erase is documented in Art Thompson's book To the Victor Go the Myths & Monuments: The History of the First 100 Years of the War Against God and the Constitution, 1776-1876, and Its Modern Impact.
For Christians and Jews who believe the scriptures, the Bible is clear on what is going on. And in fact, at its core, this is ultimately a battle with spiritual components that cannot be ignored. American churches can and must play a role in this battle.
But in the physical realm, there is only one national organization working to stop the Deep State behind the Deep State: The John Birch Society. As JBS founder Robert Welch said, the key to stopping what late Bohemian Grove member David Rockefeller described as his “secret cabal” that was “conspiring” to form a “one world” system is to expose the agenda and its purveyors, with God's help, while organizing to stop them and educating the electorate. Nothing else will do. There are no shortcuts or magic bullets. With the rise of the Internet, thanks to the foundation laid by JBS and others, that is happening at an unprecedented rate. But all God-fearing, patriotic Americans must get involved in the fight if freedom is to survive (in The New American, 02 November 2017).
Thankyou for sharing such as nice article. Keep it sharing it really helpfull for me.
